Anyone seen any good number plates on cars lately?

Thats my mates!

I've not been posting on here for a while - moved back to Manchester and the site is blocked at work

Anyway, I will make sure I start posting like I used to, but in the mean time here are some pics:

W4YNE or a 911 on M1
and KO 1 on a hi lux pick up or something similar in Solihull

Fantastic pics Mambo! What are the rules regarding black plates? Also 900 M can't exist on 2 vehicles at once of course - would 1 be 90 OM with adjusted spacing? Also what is the Cayenne? One shook the ground @ Monaco when I was there.

Happy New Year.

They're called "traditional number plates" (white, silver, or grey characters on a black background), and are only legal on vehicles constructed before 1st January 1973.

Yeah I think black plates are pretty much illegal on these cars as BTB500 said

He only has the 900 M plate the pic of the Cayenne is about a year old, the plate lives on the CLS at the mo

I think if you can afford that sort of car you're probably not bothered about the risk of a fine for the number plates. There's a new Bentley I see on the Strand with black/silver plates and dodgy spacing (and that's inside the con charge zone, where they're supposedly quite hot on illegal plates as the ANPR cameras can't read them properly).

Possibly the saddest number plate that I have ever seen and almost certainly the most illegally spaced was S900 DWN on a Land Rover yesterday. It was spaced with an S on the top line and 900DWN on the line below so looking like S GOODWIN.

Anyone seen a worse plate?

:)

It's not sad.

UEE 5 on a 1987 Porsche 911...that promptly nearly ran into the back of another car near Tesco due to impatience...

They can 'recall' the plates if you are a persistant offender ....

I got hit with congestion charging fine recenly and my numbers/letters are not spaced correctly the actual plate is S13 VAG but i have spaced it to be S.B.VAG (literally) and not been stopped, but have not got a ticket when i have been flashed which has been sevral times, the camera picks up the plate but they cant be sure what it should be so no fine can be issued, but with the CC cameras/bus lane cameras they use video cameras which can pick up the plate on zoom so on inspection they made out what it should be and sent me a £50 fine, but got to say i was impressed by how the car/plate looked (i forgot to pay on the day,so an expensive photoshoot!). so i dont think its too much of a problem if i am sent a fine then ill pay it but i do love the ticket wardens reaction to issuing me with a parking ticket! just i hide the road tax serial numbers and they are confused!
