So what's the deal with these number plates that I'm seeing more and more of, on RHD cars; go like

They are indeed, and I think that the first 3 numbers indicate witch embassy the car belongs to.

Yes, the first three number represents the country -

List of country codes on British diplomatic vehicle registration plates - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If the letter is D in the middle, then it's a diplomat, if it's X, it's other embassy staff.

The ambassador usually has a no 1. cherished plate - I just saw IND 1 (India) going into McDonalds at Bath Road, Heathrow a couple of days back in an S-Class

if car bought from new no car tax and vat is payable, but if it subsequently sold in the UK the duty and vat would need to be paid, no taken off and a regular uk registration is given

Spotted last night on the A4 (Chiswick / Brentford), P8 OPR on an S211 E320 with a strategically placed black screw at the bottom right hand corner of the O to make QPR.

My Mrs reckons someone like Piers Morgan :dk:

MED 1A lives in Teddington , right near me , but i've never seen who owns it.

The house it lives outside doesn't strike me as a place Morgan would live.

Hmm, seems it might have changed hands - I think it now belongs to a media lawyer.

As far as I knew it was Michael Grade's.

SC 1 on a black Bently convertible, but not Simons, its owned by taxi firm owner in Glasgow
