1 GDR - ex-embassy plate, Comrade?

Having checked several sources, I can't find any record of a plate having been assigned to the former East German ambassador. Guessing that if there was one it would have been either GDR 1 or DDR 1. Their diplomatic cars were assigned a 164 prefix.

That one went for £4100 at a DVLA auction back in June 1998.

Its counterpart, ENT 1, lives on an E Class estate in Belgrave Square.

Auction dates/prices can be found at the DVLA website, and there are various sites that use DVLA-supplied data feeds to identify which car a plate is issued to, with varying degrees of accuracy/currency. I tend to use tyre-shopper.co.uk as it's straightforward, but some of its results have to be taken with a large pinch of salt.

As for knowing where the car itself is based, that's just down to the fact that I see it on a fairly regular basis.

if u use autotrader car checker it will tell u you the make model and colour on which a specific no plate is registered to i guess to stop obvious cloning
