Anyone seen any good number plates on cars lately?

1 JAM at Heathrow

I often see that car parked outside the Jamaican High Commission, on the corner of Exhibition Rd, and Prince Consort Rd, in South Ken. :D

Is that car /\ parked in two disabled spaces????? I once saw a Bentley parked in such a manner, and being on crutches myself at the time, parked in front of him, across his bonnet...

Whilst working in London many years ago, I honestly and truthfully saw a very attractive woman getting into an expensive car (strangely can't recall what), as she drove away I noticed the Reg number was 10 RAL
I often wonder, but think I know, what her occupation was.

Can't see a diplomatic CD plate displayed on 1 JAM though?

They're rarely seen nowadays, and I see plenty of diplomatic cars around London.

In fact, the last time I saw a CD plate was on telly, where Derek Trotter placed one on the dashboard in his van, when he parked on double yellows.

K155 MR A on a wicked looking SL.
It had enormous flared arches, big exhausts, sprayed up bright red and the badges were all picked out in black and souded fab. It was badged up as an SL63 but AskMid doesn't agree.

A54LEY on one of those ugly cars that Jeremy Clarckson says it looks like a dog doing a poo.

Both spotted in Mill Hill.

There's a Saab 9-3 Turbo Convertible in our undercroft with the plate S44B TU which always makes me smile

1 NAG on a Porsche near Dartford Tunnel on Saturday morning.

Does anyone have any current information on the 1953 Bentley R-Type pictured here? Plate number RLG991.

My grandfather purchased this Bentley in London in 1976, toured Europe with it, and then had it shipped to the United States from Copenhagen. Once here it was stored in a barn in Indiana for 10 years before being given to me for my 16th birthday. It was in rough shape at the time, but I did manage to get it up and running. As a starving college student I lost it around 1990 and was thrilled to see that it had not gone to scrap. If anyone has any further information regarding this car I would be most grateful.
I hate to be repetitive, but this site will not let me send a question directly to the person I am looking for until I have at least 30 posts. Looking for information on a 1953 Bentley R-Type, registration number RLG991 spotted by user Trapperjohn. Any help would be much appreciated. I can be contacted at [email protected]. Thank you in advance for any help which anyone out there may be able to provide.

I've sent him a PM for you, just to say you're asking after some more details.

Good luck.

Nice story about the car and its history.
