This is basic engineering, and unsuprisingly it has defeated me…. :o

I have a seized 2.2 Mercury outboard. I have stripped it and have a couple of questions:

Onto my questions:

1) Anyone know a bearing shop that can provide obscure Japanese ball bearings? (‘Koko’ make)
2) I need to repair the oil seals. They have a thin lip held to the crankshaft by a tiny coiled spring which goes around the outside of the lip. I have wrecked the spring. Has anyone found a supplier for these springs, or generic oil seals in different shaft sizes?

I’ve tried to get the full range of parts, but it is over 16 years old. Suppliers are basically uninterested, although one tried to sell me a crank for £170+VAT. The engine costs <£300 new.

...Or try BSL (Bearing Services Limited). They have branches all over the UK. Oil seals shouldn't be a problem either.

Most local bearing and seal distributors will be able to sell such items, quite possibly from stock.

Look in Yellow Pages.
