Becker Mexico BE 1400 code?

I recently acquired a Becker Mexico BE 1400 from a G reg 560SEL. It say "CODE" on the flap for the cassette. I haven't installed it because a) I don't know how to & b) I'm assuming it needs a security code. I can overcome the first problem but need help if the second scenario is indeed the case.

Does this mean it'll never work again if I can't find the code?

Any idea how to find out what the code is? I've got serial numbers for the unit, original car etc.
