Heyyyyy Don....

Thanks mate, I feel really tired now and am just starting to come down of my high and hope I get a decent nights kip cose the last two I have been too excited to sleep!.

Amazing day mate and amazing end result. I didnt want to touch it once it was finished by the detailer, it looked to good to touch and I still couldnt believe it was mine!. I got the bunch of flowers and kept the salesman and his manager gapping outside until ice was forming on the end of their noses, and then.....I got in MY AMG and drove her out of the dealer and couldn't stop whooping!....What a big kid!

Thanks again mate!

Ps Be carefull getting in/out of the seat-the side bolster wears very very quickly.

Looks the biz mate! Now begins the tough part of ownership.....keeping it looking like that for as long as possible!

I predict many sleepless nights ahead! :D

Ha ha ha ha....yes I totally agree with you fella, I had a sleepless one last night thinking just that!

Its why I spent the money having the detailing like I did on the car as the whole thing should now be sealed for the winter and the products my detailer used on the car should help to keep the car looking this good every time she is washed down. I am going to buy the products he recommends to me so that I get the best chance of keeping her looking showroom good (Well they couldnt have done a better job in comparison) each time the Karcher is used.

Looking this morning every car down my road is covered in thick frost where as mine has some ice over the roof and on the back.....So the wax on sealant are doing their job already and this should last about 8 - 9 months is washed in the right way!

Well I had a full weekend with my baby and today to do a bit of Xmas shopping which meant unleashing the beast, my god I love this car. I also ended up going to my dealer to find out if they could get for me some number plate holders rather than the four screw option in the back and two at the front they have fitted the plates with, as they look so untidy and was told they dont do them....typical. Also to see if they could figure out my Iphone problem....and......nope couldnt sort that out either and have been told to get a craddle when they come out for the Iphone 4 as they are still not released yet!.....So all in all a bit of a dissapointing day. But still didnt let it dampen my spirits cose all I have to do is turn that key over and its all forgotten....it is so naughty and just doesnt stop wowing me.

I must admit I have had it couple of times past the 4,500 rpm recommendation for running in and when I say a couple of times I really do mean once or twice....I hope that doesn't effect the running in of the engine, but it is so hard to try and keep within the recommendations. I cant wait till it is though and I can start to appreciate what this beast can really do.

Well shes done over 150 miles now and my beautifully clean car now looks filthy and I am not going to get the chance to clean her until the weekend but seeing her with a dirty bum and side skirts absolutely makes me cringe.

Glad to hear you are enjoying her :thumb: my c63 has number plate holders front and rear with no visible screws maybe they are cost cutting and no longer fit these ? i would give the dealer a bit of grief and request them on a new c63 !!
Ps chris harris (evo) states our engines get much much better once they have a few miles under the belt - 15 - 20k so the best is yet to come.

Benjy! :D That car is the shiniest car I've ever seen! :thumb:

Congratulations and enjoy...although I know how you feel looking at your new pride and joy after driving in these conditions for a few miles - the only time I've seen my Porsche clean was in the dealer when I picked it up....it now looks like a heap! :(

That iPhone / Comand compatibility thing is a right pain - I was very lucky as I had an iPhone 3G with a cradle when I bought my C63 so imported my contacts in the only way possible (using the cradle). When I got the iPhone 4 I could never update the contacts unless I typed them into the car manually - here's hoping MB update their software pronto!

With regards to number plates, I know what you mean - some MB dealers just screw in the plates leaving the screws exposed (as your dealer appears to have done). The dealer I bought mine from used proper licence plate holders which are also more secure as it's harder (although not impossible) to steal the plate. The exact ones used on my car were the ones behind this link:

German Number Plates and License Plates

They're very easy to use - unscrew the plates, screw these puppies on then clip the plate into them and fix shut. They're cheap as well...get them ordered!

Continue to enjoy mate....this is just the start

Benjy that looks fatastic mate, congratulations.

Looking forward to getting mine in March.
:D

Hope nobody is out in a c63 today (snow) made it to work ok in my c43,the c63 will not be moving whilst there is snow - i took my previous one out in the snow last year and it was a nightmare !!

Oh yeah, very gingerly though and glad I specc'd the LSD.

Motorways are pretty clear, but I don't think I exceeded 1500rpm the whole way and only saw the ESP light once.

You are a total gent Andy......thanks ever so much mate my order will be going in very shortly for these, thats exactly what I am after

And thank you for your kind words, she is a little beaut and I have said that I am going to have this detailer do my car every couple of months to keep her looking this good. Hes even put her up on his website which I feel quite honoured considering some of the other cars he has on there like F50's and Lambo's. It is a total pain seeing my baby not just dirty now but covered in snow :( but hopefully this wont last too long and I can get back up to scratch (not literally) and looking good again.

One of the things I have found so far owning this car, which I thought a little strange is that not many people like you very much driving these cars. Already had the bird a few times and thats just me moving out of there way to pass me. Weird!

Thanks again mate!:thumb:
