C63 AMG Sportpack- Gleammachine. - Detailing World

Oh my god thats it and thats Rob doing my car on Saturday.......I have to say this guy is one special detailer and a really nice guy to deal with also. Was introduced to him by my pal with the RS6 and think hes a bit of a special find. I fully recommend him and what he does with a cars detailing is absolutely out of this world....honestly it came out looking like polished glass when he finished it. 8 hours of graft he put into that.

No thank you ever so much for finding this and posting it up. Really appreciate that!

And.....it dont look like that now, but I wont try and clean her until the products arrive this week that he recommended. He even said that he would pop over the first time I clean her and show me what needs to be done to keep her looking her best. :thumb:

PS, those plate holders above are even cheaper at your dealers, £4.99 all in I just bought one last Friday.

:)
My dealer dont do them I went in there yesterday and they were their unhelpful selfs as usual.

Palmball has posted me those details for the ones he used and they will be perfect.

Thanks anyway!

what a mean looking 63 , well done benjy , look forward to seeing a the amg meets next year :thumb:
Hey how you doing Matty, yeah I cant wait to bring her to the next meet. I mailed Rash the other day and he said he would sort something out once the weather gets a bit better.

And thanks for your kind words bud!

Mate to be honest the past two days she has sat on the drive with about 2 ft of snow on her. I hate seeing her like this but what can you do. Anyway I had Sunday and Monday (Off work xmas shopping) to be able to give a small run down of how the car felt and what my first impressions are.

I think I said in previous posts that the first thing that goes through your mind even if you have had a test drive of one is the immense torque of the thing. I had forgotten how that fel on this car. It just wants to spin up the back tyres so frequently and a little too easily. I can compare it to my TVR which was a lot lighter and around the same sort of power output but had that immense torque feel to it. Straight away you fall madly in love with the sound in which it sounds better when starting from cold to when it is warm. When its cold you get that slight overrun popping from the exhaust when you let your foot off the loud pedal and it just puts a crafty smile on your face. You no this thin is going to be powerful but its like it take you back to being a naughty kid. Love it.

I have to say like everyone else the fuel consumption is something else but to be honest you dont buy one of these if you are worrying about petrol and "is it going to get me to the shops and back for a tenner", its a pure drivers car. I am so glad I had the LSD fitted now and can see the difference it makes in comparison to my TVR which didn't have one. Its like its steering the back end of the car when it goes into a slight slide which you will have to get use to and again puts a naughty boy smile across your face, especially when your missus says "Oh thats scary".

If I have one criticism it would be the bluetoothing of your phone and trying to upload the contacts and issues around the Iphone 4 which isn't really the cars fault but Apple being its usual self of not thinking of the effects their products have on the real world.

The other thing is people dont seem to like you in this car, I think they feel it is slightly intimidating and the noise and power p*sses them off, and I really mean that, especially BMW drivers for some reason. Had a few little gestures made and I wasn't doing anything out of line, especially as I am still running her in. The running in process is hard to stick to in which I have had her a couple of times over the 4,500 rpm limit recommended and over the 85mph mark but its like the car is telling you to "try me out and see what you think"

Pagzzy, all I can say is its the most amazing car I have ever owned in which I knew I was going to love it, but I have fallen in love with it.....its WICKED!

Lovely looking car Benjy, I love the red callipers. I hope the weather breaks soon so that you can truly enjoy it. :D

Hi Oli

I had a Cerbera 4.5L whereby I had to always make sure I had my RAC card on me when I went out as I was more than likely going to have to use it. My photo albulm on here has a few pictures. She was the most beautiful looking car I had ever seen and the noise was something else. Problem was I had her 6 months before finally throwing in the towel as the amount of problems I had, it was more at TVR to be fixed then it was in my own garage sitting under the dust sheet. Funny cose before this one I had a 400SE (Wedge) which was made up of ford parts and bits and bobs, another beautiful looking and sounding car but this one never let me down once and I use to use that as my everyday car.

I know the exact feeling with a TVR, I got to the point with my Tuscan that every little noise I thought the car was doomed, I broke down 4 times in a month due to a loose wire connecting the fuel pump which was intimitient, and being a Speed 6 there was the added worry of it going pop, even though it had a rebuild at TVR Power, I managed to keep it about 7 months before I had enough.
I've had a Range Rover since which was a great car but not really enough in performance so I'm currently hunting for an E55, wish I coud get a new C63 myself thier awesome cars:thumb:.

I loved the tuscan thought it was a pure work of art, such a pretty looking car Oli....As for the C63 why not look at their financing route through agility, thats how most of the guys on here are buying their new MBs as did I.

Its a lot of money SB but its for a hell of a lot of car. I had a CLK Cabrio 350 sport before the C63 and have to say that is one hell of an engine. It also sounded gorgeous....As for the pics, if you take a look in my Photo Albulm on here I have added a few new ones of the 63 and also some of my old TVR, unfortunately I don't have any of my first one which was the 400SE but the Cerbie was one good looking piece of kit.

All I would say mate is if you are that serious about getting the 350 take a look at what you can afford and just go for it. Its a shame as my 350 had only done 20k miles and was only 5 years old which I let it go for £17k. It was a minter in the same colour as my 63. Again there are some pics on my albulm if you want to have browse and see what you can get for the money! Let us know how you get on!:thumb:

Just an update now 3 weeks in from owning my 63. The weather hasn't helped matters with this type of car and the tyres make it even worse. Since the snow went I have been trying to get as much time in the car as I can and start to get a better feel of what this beast is all about. I still can't get my head around the immense torque this thing produces and that smile is still permentley plasted across my chops every time I jump in and turn tha key. I have started to open her up a little now and have had a few moments of joy the first being with an Alfa Romeo that made me get my first real feel on just how quick this thing moves and OMG....Now I always new this car woulfd be fast but really surprised me the accelaration and mid range of this engine, so much power which seemed to kick in around the 4,000 to- 5,000 rev mark. Fantastic. She has now done around 500 miles on the clock and for all you guys that are going to criticise me for not having her fully run in, this is not a bad thing around this sort of milege to open her up a little to stop glazing on the pistons at keeping her at low revs all the time. They seem to run in better by going through the rev range a little.

My only problem is that I am becoming a little obsessive with the car and hate seeing her not looking her best all the time which is hard when the roads and weather are like they are at the moment. I have a small scratch on the bonnet which I noticed Sunday when washing her which when I spotted it it made me feel sick so I have got onto my detailer and will want him to come round at some stage and see if there is anything he can do to get it out, I think this may have been caused by a stone hit the bonnet and then slid up and caused the scratch, either way I can't have this and need to get it sorted out. I am still waiting to hear about the craddle for my Iphone 4 but am now getting use to the phone and the way it is in the car so I am sure this wont be too long before it will be out and I will have this fitted as and when.

One of my pet hates and don't know if you guys have the same problem but my missus has 3 cats and 2 which love the bonnests of warm cars when they are parked up, as well the scratch I have had cat paw prints all over the bonnet so my new cover which should be with me by Tuesday next week is going to be a bit of a god send as if I find one of her precious babys on my car a finger covered in english mustard is going to go where the sun don't shine. It really freaked me out the other day when I saw this. Now I don't have any news on the re programming of the ECU with MRC as I have not had the time but in the new year I want to take her to them and see what they offer and then make a decision as to have any work done. As it stands it seems a bit pointless considering the car has PPP and drivers pakcage added to it already but we will see.

Back to the car, I just can't find any faults with it and most likely wont for the future but I have had, I must admit a couple of scary moments where the back has kicked out a few times when I have been least expecting it to, like going round bends and gently giving the tiniest amount of throttle and the other, like with Simon I believe, went to over take a car and the back again kicked out due to the power this thing kicks out. I am quickly realising that this is no way a winter car and by any means and needs to be respected at all times in these wet and icy conditions. If you abuse that then this thing will kick you into touch very quickly.....AND I LOVE IT.:D:D:D:D

Its gawgus mate, im very pleased for you, just wish my dad would get one instead of the S :(
