Hi, I've been looking at the Euro Car Parts site and, for my vehicle, there are several options for brake pads, leaving me uncertain as to which I should be buying.
Assistance in identifying the correct ones will really be appreciated.
Thanks,
Peter

Give your local MB dealer a call, genuine pads are really not expensive, otherwise ECP will let you know the range available from your registration number.

They list a range of options usually in terms of original fitment / quality etc. I assume that you have standard brakes? i.e. not a sports brake package as they have different discs and pads.

ATE were probably the original supplier

Thanks - there's nothing non-standard about the car.
My problem is the range that's offered from using my vehicle reg. Some I can dismiss on the strength of their being performance options, but there are other choices such as Lucas/Brembo which are far from obvious.
Probably easier to just drive over to the ECP branch.

I doubt they are Brembo. If you can then take a front wheel off and look at the brand mark on the caliper and also the fixing pin arrangements for the pads.. It will almost certainly be Lucas, the Brembo pads are a different shape.

I am sure it will be either the Pagid or ATE pads that have a slight curve and the two lugs either side

Do not forget the wear sensor and also order on line for local pickup and put MBCLUB25 in the discount box and get 25% off!

I have the ATE pads in my W203 320 and amn very happy with them, low dust, no noise and good bite and progression.

Thanks again. Just returned from the local ECP branch where the guy on the counter was supremely helpful - mine turn out to be the ones with wings. <cough>
As for discount, I offered the discount code over the counter. I'll settle for saying that the discount was *most* generous.
Wisely or other wise, I've skipped the wear sensors at this point. I understand the existing ones may be OK. If not I'll just have to go in again.
It's the first time I've done this in quite a while (although not the first time ever - that was when I relined a set of brake shoes in the late sixties).

Ahhh it was all sorted before i could help!

For times like this, if your ever unsure, just drop me a message and i can check using the Merc Parts system, to see what exactly is fitted to your vehicle.

Glad your sorted!

Later: stupid question - of course you have an email address. :-)
