We go to the Priory quite a lot (near the in-laws). You will find it very busy and difficult to park on a Sunday. Dovecote near Ashton Court is often a bit quiter and car park larger.

Hmm, I guess it's busy because its good eating....catch 22 - , maybe not a Sunday then ? or how about The New Inn in Blagdon? Good food and beers + parking.
The Huntsman on the Mangotsfield/Downend borders, does a very reasonable carvery and has a largish carpark. It's hardly a country pub though. On the other hand it's newly refurbed as it burnt down last year when contractors were "torching" on a new roof to the smokers outside accommodation! I kid you not! Roof covering caught fire and spread to main building which went up quite impressively! Not far from the W Wicket, (next rdbt) and just off ring road
