"Brutus" the e55k Project

It's been mapped and had a pulley, etc etc, Was told aprox 560hp 835nms but no dyno print.

You could take it over to Acid's place - he can run it up on the dyno for you. Not expensive...

It's something i will get done, But it will have to wait for a dry day probably early next year lol.

Mine was sitting a little high has it been on axle stands over night, That said yours must be very low as mines on links.

Jack it up then remove it bud, It's only two bolts. Looks really smart from behind now its all painted :)

Mine is airmatic and I had it lowered, can't get a jack under it unless I set it to the 'high' setting. :thumb:

The CLS cooler looks different, I'll give it a go removing it.

Ride height adjusted

Well because im getting old and suffer a bad back the ride tbh was just way to hard.

I Purchased a New rear standard link, and Built up some new front ones which a kind member on here gave me using some new m6 x10mm ball stud bolts from ebay.

In the end i didnt use the rear one in the end as the 2x retaining bolts which hold the rear sensor the the Subframe snapped despite of good soaking in wd40. These were studs through alloy metal plate

I Grinderd off the heads of the stud and nut, Then bolted it back together. Afraid of the fwd rear bracket would do the same i thought id best leave alone as this is all part of the Rear anti roll bar!

Didnt really want to get into Dropping rear subframes just yet lol

But what did happen was the Metal alloy bracket hold the level arm bent slightly so the rear of the car actually lifted upto 645mm! which is exaclty what i wanted.

Now the fronts i thought would be nice and easy, but i didn't realise again one end was a Stud with a 6mm thread, This was attached to the upper arm.

Instead of using the ones i built up i managed to free off the adjuster links so now Brutus is Level alround and the ride WOW sooo much more to my liking, not to mention looks more stock;)

Soo in short i've got new Level rods alround which you never know i may get around to fitting.

The rear just to warn others is a royal PAIN in the ass to get at not very nice at all!

This is my little boy! caught him brushing up on the rear suspension abit later lol

Does anyone know out of interest what height std e55k saloons sit at ??

I agree totally on the rear link being a pain to get to. In fact, it was so difficult with just the rear jacked up, I had to leave fitting the adjustable link I have and keep the rear standard.
A little job for my indie next service I think.

Your little boy will soon be saying move over dad,I will do that for you,go and make the coffee

Well a massive thankyou to Lyserman another helpfull chap on here, I didnt relise Brutus has 3 Pollen filter's!

The 1st i knew about just above the Aux battery, but i hadn't a clue about the other 2 carbon pollen filters below the Glove box!

I changed these out today date markings were 2006! make of that what you will.

2x New ones from a Supplier of mine.

Also i've been thinking along the lines of upgrading the Stock intercooler for a larger unit, The Core size of the standard unit is

26" long
5 1/4" depth
2" thick

4260.63664 cubic centimeters

Expensive filters them relatively speaking. I replaced mine last year. They don't need changing that often as they are only activated with the carbon filtering button which is located under the rear heated screen button.

There directly in line after the Fan blower bud so can't see how that works? maybe wrong of course, But i thought i may as well change them as i had a large order to go into our supplier anyway.

Not sure mate but that's what I have been told. If not the case I'm not sure how the active charcoal filter button works then. I will rebook at the manual for my own interest if nothing else.

Ffs couldn't help myself, Went and bought this pmsl

Had a measure up and it will Just fit 26 x 7 x 3.5 , supports upto 1,200hp and should complement the Johnsons pump well.

I found the second I "just wanted to make it louder", it was actually quite addictive to mod further to a point (of not spending silly money).

If i'm honest, i love to make it a little quieter lol Yours was perfect John in that respect sounded awesome and no drumming!

Mines had a secondery de-cat, X-pipe and 2x Powerflow rear silencers, i find its alittle loud at 50mph but other than that its ok.

Sounds like Nascar at high rpm lol:devil:
