Oil Level Sensor

Well i was going to hold off doing this as it hasn't long since had a oil and filter change, But as i moved it out of the garage earlier the Red display was showing "oil level" visit workshop again.

So i had to do it, 3x e10's held the sensor in place and one block connector, The 3x Screws must have only been around 10nms and cracked of very easily, access to is a doddle, Gave the Old sensor a bit of a wiggle and it pulled out nice and easy.

The Genuine Sensor fitted spot on too. :thumb:

8.5 ltrs Of mobil 0-40, and a New Fram Oil filter and 2x Sump plugs later Job done and no more Red error displayed.

Also gave the car a dam good wash and polish, followed by a wax.

Thats High praise indeed coming from you Sir, It's when i see pic's of car's like yours, That gives me the inspiration to carry on.

Thanks again, it was tricky lots of swearing lol, I used cello tape on the front to hold all the letters in position, whilst i peeled off the backing then fixed them to the wings after carefully measuring up.

Think there about as close i could get without the proper measurements to go on.

Awesome awesome job Gav!

Car looks stunning and us a testament to all your hard work.

Tbf Thanks go's to everyone on here who has helped me sort Brutus out, Cant wait for the summer :)

Brakes!!

Well new brakes fitted, Did it by getting the car up in the air on axle stands locking it, then leaving it for 15mins to go to sleep.

Gave me a good chance to clean up the face of the hubs and disc back plates.

National Disc's and TRW pads is what ive fitted so will report back at a later date after the bed period and let you all know how it gets on.

So far so good, Brutus is going to need new front flexi's by next Mot but i wont be doing them as have no access to star for bleeding the system :/

Car is really looking and driving the part now, My Intercooler should also be with me for next weekend

Ohhhh where did you buy your new intercooler ?? Have you considered split cooling yet ?

How were your calipers on fronts ? Signs of corrosion issues at the retaining plates or any stuck pistons ?

Hi Lenny, no not going split cooling route just a larger front mount, it was from here, https://www.torqen.uk/

Listed for a 350z but was exactly the size i needed re my measurements.

I was worried about sticky front calipers, BUT for once lol all of the Pistons went back very easily, The car has has fresh Brake fluid every 2 years.

The pads were very tight going in the calipers despite me cleaning them up so i rubbed down the anti rattle shims on the edges of the pads and copper slipped it all. Went for drive then lifted the car and made sure nothing was binding, Which it wasn't:bannana:

I did have a issue with the small 10mm headed bolt that holds the wear lead to the caliper. Despite wd40 etc i couldn't get it free and the head snapped leaving a stud, so i secured the wear sensor with a zip tie nice and firmly.

One of the Disc backing plates had a very small amount of corrosion but it wasn't bad enough to warrant attention. I brake cleaned everything and made sure the hubs were free of rust and debris with a wire brush and the disc's sat nicely on the hubs.
