Followed the Tom Tom today "take the next left" and so ducked into the Bus Lane expecting to turn left in 50 yeards and turns out to be NO ENTRY.

I had to carry on down the bus lane (because of course no one was going to let me back in) for around 300 yards until the next left (and until Jane on the TT could sort herself out  )

Anyway, had to drive under the bus lane cameras.

Question "Do they issues penalties/fines automatically?" I am to wait for the post?

Thanks all.

Hackney do enforce Bus Lane contraventions, and a postal PCN would be issued if you were monitored driving in the lane - issued to the registered keeper via DVLA records. I understand this to be a fairly recent change for Hackney to enforce (TfL still enforce Red Routes).

Hours of operation:

Assume it was one of these routes?

Sorry to read about your experience and apologies for my sense of humour, but it did make me smile when you blamed the Tom Tom for the error.

Hopefully you might get away with it.

The answer is in your quote.

You should NEVER enter a Bus lane until your "turn" is upon you.;) ;)

you missed

Had you stopped and waited to be let out then you wouldn't have had to drive past any bus lane cameras.

Plenty of smart replies but no answer to the question ;)

I think you'll find Robert has always offered lots of very sensible advice on this type of topic.

Good luck
