Hi Folks

I just got a set of monoblock 17" replicas.
Fitted them this afternoon to find that the original wheel bolts are now too long and are proud of the new rims.

Just wondering has anyone encountered this before ?

Any old alloy wheel shop should be able to sell you a set of m12 bolts with shorter heads or ebay

I have indeed!

There are a myriad of different bolt lengths, bolts for w124 steels are shorter, but is it the threaded bit that is too long ( wheels not secure on car) or is it the head of the bolt?

W124 steel wheel bolts have an uglier head even if they do fit, maybe someone can advise as to whether w210 etc bolts would fit

I fink what we're seeing are the dreaded old waisted bolts. They should be replaced as a matter of course as they have a nasty habit of shearing off at the narrow part which leaves them very difficult to remove.
