400 Lbs/ft plus is brilliant. The power of the V6 is very good,far superior delivery than the bmw straight six anytime.

I have a 2004 330d as well as the b class. My bmw when mapped put out 285bhp & 450lbft, standard car 200bhp/300lbft

The 231 bhp Merc V6 has standard 400 torque. A good map will give it approx 440/450. The 330d reacts great to mapping also but is a bit laggy compared to the V6 Merc. I've had both, mapped both.

Does the 204bhp 330d really go up to 285 with stage 1? That doesn't sound right, thought it'd be around 260bhp...?

Actually I think you're the one that brought up the e46 car. I would compare a V6 diesel Merc to an e92 330d with 231 bhp going to about 275 with a map.

Yip I got 260 from dms back in the day. 285 seems too much when you can't get that from an E92 ???

What tuner gave you that figure ? 285 from 204 sounds a little hard to believe.

A very reputable bmw tuner, tuning the 330d has come along way, it's quite a common range of power. I only commented on this post as was intrigued to how well the merc map compared to the BMW.

My commenting was to set straight that he v6, from the same era is in no way shape or form superior. I'm not bashing the v6, I appreciate all aspects of good engineering

Well... With the right amount of modifications, any car can make that power - surely that's not a stage 1 increase on a stock 204bhp 3l diesel.

Be great to know which tuner can squeeze 285 from them tough

I have too friends who specialise in tuning the m57n (330d engine) but very capable of achieving those figures.

Lol no the 411 is running a hybrid e90 turbo with 535d injectors and m5 diff
