C350e anyone considering one?

Mine is in the garage while they try to work out what's wrong. 6 weeks, 2k miles and it won't charge up any more. Still fully driveable but not very fuel efficient!!

I have a loan 65plate C220d prem plus until it's fixed, can't believe how much less refined and slower it feels than my C350e!!

You should probably expect a few teething troubles as its new technology but at least Mercedes step up with replacement cars whilst they're investigating / fixing it!

Hi, I'm new to the forum and received my 350e just before Xmas. Unfortunately it's been in the garage a few times as its not charging although this is intermittent. MB can't seem to find any fault but it has just happened again today. I was just wondering if they had any solutions or had found the root cause to your non-charging issue?

Thanks in advance.

Just had a phone call confirming delivery date of mine. Next Friday 15th. Ordered mid-June through Leaseplan and was originally told Feb, so this has come forward by at least two-weeks! Good news for those still waiting.

C350e Sport Premium (2016.5) saloon
Solid White

Now to try and set up connect me functions!

Oooo almost identical order to me, same colour etc.

I ordered via the NHS Fleet in July/Aug and expecting "Early March" at present.

When did they start giving you more info etc?

ordered mine mid June - and haven't really had any comms at all from NHS Fleet Solutions other than the (29!) weekly automated emails giving me an early Feb 2016 delivery estimate. I rang them yesterday to talk about the rolec home charge unit offer they had on their website, and they said that my car will be with the dealer by the last week in Jan for the pre delivery checks :thumb: and I could expect to receive it by first week in feb. So pretty spot on really in terms of timescale!

Mine has been in a week now and not fixed yet.. Last time I managed to speak to anyone, they seemed to think it was one of the coolant pumps that had failed. I'm assuming these are pumps associated with ensuring the battery system doesn't overheat / freeze.

Apparently before charging will initiate, the car needs a certain signal back from both pumps, one appears to not be working hence no charging. The problem is that none of the electrical signals the garage were getting matched the wiring diagrams provided by Mercedes and the garage believes they are incorrect!

Mine was also intermittent for a while before one day, it just stopped charging. I did notice on the days it wouldn't charge that you could hear what sounded like coolant being pumped around which is never noticed before when charging.

You would hope they can get some fault information from the memory in your car if they plug it into diagnostics? Good luck, hope you get it sorted soon (and also hoping I get mine back at some point - really missing it after a week without!!).

Thanks for that, gotta love those weekly emails! - Always hoping for it to get sooner? :P - started on early feb, but has been the same for a good few months now!

Hoping they are correct as i get back from a holiday on the last day of feb! - So will be a great return gift!

I keep seeing people talking about the Mercedes app / control - and not sure if i'll be able to activate it, but here's to hoping!

Would have liked the NHS Fleet Solutions to give more detail tho, along the lines of a normal order status, dates / times/ manufacturing status, but oh well :) - still happy that i'm not waiting too much longer!

And hoping you are enjoying the car! - not seen one at all so far!

Late February for me, still getting the standard weekly emails.

Hi Guys

I need to order a new company car but ideally want a MY17 for any updates and possible CarPlay.

Due to the current wait times if I order now would I potentially get a MY17 as I know last year MY16 was from June?

Thanks

Darren

Rumours from well informed sources says you would have to wait for facelift to get this, but we all hope there will be a retrofit.

Had an interesting event with my car last week, after filling up with fuel (again) I drove out of the petrol station got about 20 yards when a warning came up telling me only e-drive was available and to refuel immediately
I had 3 electric miles available and was 3 miles from home and the car would not engage the petrol engine, I pulled over and turned the car off and then back on but still the same message.

I managed to get home on electric, turned the car off for 5 minutes and the problem had cleared.

What I don't know is if I had ran out of electric miles would the car have engaged the petrol engine and recognised the car was full of fuel?

Wasn't a serious issue as I was on normal roads close to home but could have been interesting if I was on a motorway more than 3 miles from an exit

Fuel tank level sensor ? Get it booked in for sure.

Posted in another forum earlier about a lease deal to get a few comments/thoughts. I was fairly certain I'd go for that deal anyway (standard 350e but with metallic paint) but thought I'd get a new quote tonight and I'm glad I did as, to my surprise, the price had dropped.

I could enjoy the extra cash (£30 per month saving) but thought I'd see what I could get based on the original price I was expecting to pay. I now have a quote for metallic paint, Premium Plus and Privacy Glass for fractionally less (£1.50 to be exact!) than my original quote.

Absolute no brainer now, definitely going for it but no unsure what colour to go for. Was all set for Tenorite Grey but keep hearing about Brilliant Blue, although not managed to see this colour in the flesh. Any thoughts on what I should go for? Submitting my order on Monday!

In my opinion it deserves the Obsidian Black Metallic.
But a lot of ppl in here like the blue one.

I have a palladium silver estate, premium plus which I'm very pleased with but if I was buying again, I'd have the brilliant blue as it looks amazing!

Personally not so keen on it in black, I don't think it does the car justice but everyone has different tastes!

i love the blue and the black, but have had similar before, so i went for the cavansite blue :) - not seen many pics yet, so still excited to see what it looks like in a few months! :)

I don't think the standard black does anything for it, the metallic black is quite nice but my current car is black so fancy a change.

Having seen the Brilliant Blue today, I agree it looks fantastic so that's the colour I'm going for. The showroom model had cream interior which looked great but with two kids under 3, not sure that is a wise move!

Lex Mats

Hi,

I'm amazed that new cars don't come with mats as standard. My car is being supplied by Lex and I understand they provide tailored mats. Could any of the Lex owners post some photos of the mats (driver, passenger and rear) please. Are you happy with quality and general fit?

I've seen any amount of genuine mats on eBay at around £35 (used) that are pretty good. Look like they are from mini lease vehicles.

Many thanks

Mike

The Lex mats are OK for a change. Would love to post pics but I don't have my car at the moment!! I would reckoned waiting till you have the car and take a look at them as the quality will probably be better than the cheapish eBay mats.

Hi,

I've had my c350e for about 6 weeks. I drive very conservatively and usually get 45mpg. One tank I managed 56. I managed to get 50mpg starting with zero electric miles once.

A lot of the time I just can't resist giving it the beans. Now I think of it as a reasonably economic missile and that helps me sleep at night.

Prem Plus, Palladium, 18s & Privacy Glass. Went from a standard 61 plate Golf, which is like a quantum leap in pretty much every way.

Same Mercedes Me issues through Hitachi and still trying to progress and will go as far as possible to get a satisfactory resolution.

Question - I drove over to the in laws, left the car with 50% charge on the dash, went for a walk for 1.5 hours or so, checked the dash, now showing 46%. As we went to leave about 4 - 5 hours later it was down to 30% which I was really surprised by. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it natural/cold related or worthy of going into the workshop?
