I heard 70 so car park going to be full of them.

70 ... blimey ... what company is that ?

I wonder now many you'll get queueing up for the charging points !??!?

I specified the 4m but got an 8m. I would be happy to trade if you are local to London.

Thanks everyone for the info and to seanc360e for the offer its much appreciated if I wasn't 250 miles away, I'm in the north east.

I'll see how it is, for now I can use an extension to use the 3pin lead but it's a shame since I have a charging point. I think I'll make my case to the dealer more that I need it swapped out.
I'm not going to let it ruin the car, I'm too excited for that.

I'm pretty sure you can get these leads at whatever length from a 3rd party for a lot less than MB. Try looking on the Rolec site.

The 4m one is just over 4m when straightened but the tension is enormous - I wouldn't like to leave it plugged in like that! If using the 3pin charger with extension lead make sure it is a 10A or better extension and unreel the whole thing or it will get hot even at 8A charge rate.

If you get no joy with the dealer this site has leads at various lengths and they are about the best prices I have found so far.

Well....

My dismay continues. Its been in Bremen (on the MB system) for 12 days now and still not arrived at the dealer.

Im told its now overdue but no -one seems to be able to tell me exactly where it is....

SOB SOB SOB....

Have the VIN it has been built

I ordered my 350e Estate Premium Plus back in June last year. I now have the VIN and it is on its way from Bremen. Delivery to dealer due 7 April. The wait is nearly over!

I have loaded it with everything including (even the Air Balance Package!) the factory towbar - can anyone tell me exactly what elements of the Hands Free access are removed with that option? Is it just the foot waggle opening or the whole system including the touch control door handles gone?

Brilliant Blue days are nearly with us.

I got bored waiting for mine to be delivered (due in May), so I had a demo car for 3 days this week.

I'm very impressed with it; it is a far better car than I believed it to be (and I knew it was going to be good).

The demo car came as standard spec, aside from the upgraded speakers and panoramic roof. It had 4,000 miles on the clock, so had been well run in.

Interior: Lovely, just lovely. Everything has a real premium feel to it, from the metal switches, the dash, the gauges and even the faux leather seats are really top notch. The seats are very comfortable, although I did find the centre backrest to protrude a little in the middle, which was slightly annoying. There may be a button to adjust this, I didn't look to be honest.

Exterior: We've all seen the pictures; the demo car was obsidian black and looked incredible.

Engine/Range: The first day in the car, I opted to throw economy out of the window and test the performance. Holy crap, it is really fast. I knew it was quick, but I was blown away with the performance in Sports+. I've driven a few quick cars in the past (TVRs mainly) and I have a MV Agusta; the C350e still impressed me with its pace. For an eco car, it really does shift.

Of course, fuel economy suffered and I managed about 30mpg on that drive home (19 miles, 10 on the motorway). Still, insanely good fun and great if you want a play.

After a full overnight charge, I did my morning commute aiming for economy. As mentioned this is 19 miles; 5 miles of A/B roads, 10 miles on the motorway and then 4 miles urban town roads. I used Hybrid mode for the motorway and E-mode for the stint before and after. I managed a comfortable 59.3 mpg, with 0 miles left in the battery. The last half a mile was on petrol as the battery had fully discharged.

No charging ability at work currently, so the trip home was akin to the first day. Sports + and a cheesy grin.

The last day involved another overnight charge; but this time I made sure to keep the car in petrol mode when on the motorway to preserve battery for the last leg into the office. I found that holding a steady 70 mph on the motorway causes the car to switch over to the battery to maintain the speed, rather than use the petrol engine. This is fine if you have a sub-10 mile commute, but it isn't very good if you want to save battery for urban driving at the end. A little kick down knocks it back into petrol, although there is probably a setting you can change.

Using this method, I managed an improved 68.7 mpg. Much better and a good bit higher than the 50 mpg I get in my current Audi A3 1.6 tdi.

No doubt longer journeys will see a far lower mpg due to the battery capacity, but clever driving can keep the battery alive for longer (sat nav screen off unless using it, heated seats and AC off, lots of regen braking).

One thing I didn't know about the car, and it caught me out the first few times, was the auto-regen braking feature. It has probably been mentioned before, but it is brilliant and really helps focus your mind on charging the battery whilst driving.

All in all, very impressed with it. Still 6 weeks for me and I'm really excited for it now.

Glad you like it ...

E-SAVE mode is your answer to this.

My only gripe is that if I put the car into S+ and start to use the paddles ... there's no way of keeping in paddle shift only - it goes back to normal D (auto mode). Given that it's in S+ and I've used the paddles I'd like to stay in paddle shift until it's taken out of S+

Needless to say my only worry about the cable being not long enough were ok in the end. Thanks for everyones input. It reaches ok with a little tension in the cable but its firm at both ends without feeling like its going to come out or straining.
I would have liked it on the ground due to neighbours needing access but I'll just remove it as soon as its done charging and I will have a chat and let them know.

The car, wow! Amazing! Keep on finding excuses to go anywhere. Anyone who has one on order, I'm sorry but I hope it comes quick for you!

This makes me less worried about my cable going in a runner on the path, I've ordered hazard tape to highlight it too. But your path looks to be less used than ours but then ours is in a cul De sac so not mega busy.

Mercedes leasing have told us it's coming on the 4th April unless we hear otherwise but still no official confirmation.

Yes you're right, probably only once a week to take the bin around the back and the postman but you can easily walk around if needs be.
As you can see on the pic they had to put the bin at the front of the house for a while (it was bin day).
I'm in a terrace of three and the middle house shares the path with me to gain access to their rear garden. I remember when they were installing the charging box they were um'ing and ah'ing about whether they could do it because of the shared access.

Glad that it is a fluorescent yellow so it can be really seen in the dark quite well.

Hope its all on track for you.
Mine was direct from Mercedes too, was told the 18th March for delivery to the dealer but had a message saying it came a few days early. Picked it up in the 17th. However a friend of mine who ordered at the exact same time as me, same spec, but different colour still hasn't got his and could be next week.

I came from the same car too a Civic 1.6 EX :thumb:

Wow what a coincidence! My Civic is the solid dark blue, gets dirty...a lot of effort to make look nice, I'm.looking forward to the brilliant blue....I'm at the point where I just want to know when for sure....
