Where can I get the rear bumper (AMG Exterior Bumpers) for the Plug-In version. I own a sport version and I wish to install this bumper on my c350e soon. If anyone knows please, lease let me know. Thanks, J.

I took delivery of mine yesterday. So far I am very happy, coming from a E250 the boot is a little small but I have a roof box when needed.

It is taking ages to get to learn everything, it feels a massive leap forward in tech compared to the W212.

I want to try charging the car at home, if I want to charge at 8a do I just select slow charging on the CCIS box?

Car looks great, congrats! Stunning colour.
Do you have the ILS too, just noticed the headlights look a little different to mine?

The charging adapter seems to default to 8a and you press for all lights to show for 13a. I realise its a few days now since you posted, hows it going?

Just balance the convenience of having it charged quicker with your concerns of your electrics, you'll find what works best for you. I'd have no concerns, but my house and electrics are only a few years old.
I've read all these concerns about drawing max 13a for extended periods and if you're worried you should get it investigated by a qualified electrician, do you ever worry about running a tumble drier or kettle? It draws no more power just over a longer period, its only 3kw. I've had much more going for periods of time and never worried.

Anyone waiting for a white C350e estate in/around Leeds? If so, it arrived on the back of a Lorry at the Leeds dealership this morning.

Mine!? Except it's supposed to be in Exeter! Bl**dy satnav again, I suppose...

Hi! Has anybody had a journey where the engine doesn't shut off? It has happened to me a couple of times now.(it was in Eco not sports or +) Even when I turned it off and back on, the engine fires up even when there is 25% or more charge....anyone had the same??

Very odd.

The three days I had the demo car, I can't remember the engine starting once from initial start. Even leaving work with 12% battery, it still started and ran the first few miles in electric.

Have a look through the settings; I imagine something has been changed in the Eco mode settings that tells it to use the engine instead of battery.

mine does this sometimes, usually if i have the SatNav on, and it detects traffic ahead, it will keep the engine running. I have worked out that if i cancel the route it sorts itself out.

Interesting. I know that in Eco mode it can link its power strategy to routing in the SatNav. I will watch out for that when I get mine as I always use SatNav even for a journey I know just to get the live traffic.

Yes happened to mine at the weekend I had 35% charge as well, it would not go into electric at all and wouldn't cut out when stopped. switched the car off when I got to my destination and came back to it a couple of hours later still started on engine and wouldn't go into electric then after a couple of minutes driving it went back to normal operation and hasn't happened since?

Very strange indeed and e-mode could not be selected.

Actually, this might be exactly the answer and something I completely forgot about.

I remember reading something in a review that the car will calculate the battery required for certain parts of the journey and store electricity until you get to those sections.

So if I have a 80 mile journey that is 75 miles of motorway and 5 miles of urban roads at the end; the car will ensure that I have at least 5 miles of battery range at the end, just for the urban section.

I imagine if you are using the satnav for all journeys and you have a decent chunk of low speed driving at the end (maybe through a city centre or slow B roads), the car will use the petrol engine on the initial and high speed stuff, switching to the battery when it is the most economic for your journey.

I am surprised that it doesn't still use battery for pulling away from stationary; I would have thought that would make a big difference on the economic scale...

It is in the manual in the section on Agility Control I think and/or the Plug in Hybrid section - only happens in Eco mode apparently and maybe only is you use the Eco routing option? (not sure about that last bit).

Agree that you would have thought the low speed pull away would be electric and that the engine would cut out when stopped. I think that is where the 300hybrid gets its benefit as it doesn't have much battery capacity for anything more than that.

Temp Guage software update

Car went in today for software update. Disappointingly dealer rang up to say I wouldn't be getting the car back.

Two attempts at updating the software, both were unsuccessful. Each attempt took around 100 minutes. No lights on the dashboard at all!!

Has anyone suffered the same and what was the resolution? MB Germany involved as its the first time the dealer has undertaken the update. Unlikely to get the car back until next week.

has it gone dead on the ramp ? ie.. nothing at all when turning the key ?

I know of a few Audi's in the past which have done this, resulting in ECU failures which need to be found by the process of elimination.

Also, its not uncommon on the likes of BMW's outside of warranty to do this too... its one of the risks... hence why i would never get a software update once the warranty has expired.

Car was fine when it went in, exactly a month after I took delivery of it. I just can't understand why the software update would fail. It went all the way through the upload process but came up "unsuccessful". With all the software testing Mercedes undertake this shouldn't happen? The dealer has the instrument cluster out but can't find anything obvious.

Let's see what tomorrow brings.

Well I have learnt something today - I had no idea that the engine mode had any link to the sat nav. In fact, I still find it hard to believe. Is this only with the Command system because I'm sure my 'standard' Garmin system is not that smart! The only time my engine has kept running is when I switched it to 'Charge' (I wanted to have some charge in the battery to provide a pre-entry warm-up the next morning). On 'Charge' the engine runs all the time and even stays at a high rev tick-over.

Regarding Software updates - the excellent Parts Manager at MB Chelmsford did tell me that they do not take the complexity of a software update for granted. Obviously it is a fairly major thing to do and can create a chance for software corruption.

This has cleary been detailed on page 34 of the product guide and discussed many times on the forum.

That is why its recommended that the sat nav is used for all routes... ie send the route to the car from your smart phone in advance or pre program all common routes.

My cars eta has passed, our dealer reports it's being delayed due to production issues and needs some parts, which they can tell us what....now waiting for an update....

Annoying - my estate is here and being delivered to me on Monday. FYI it has every option on it and no delay (probably built about the same time as yours should have been). Is yours a saloon? They are built in South Africa while the estate is made in Bremen so maybe different supply chain and parts issues.

Hybrids are built in Bremen regardless of Estate or Saloon currently

Mine is the estate, just the Sport spec with 360 + Privacy.

My colleagues saloon is a month behind mine and they've said his has slipped by a week, but mine has no eta now......or none that they can tell me.
