C350e anyone considering one?

Hi,

Is the small fuel tank an annoyance? Hopefully this is just the running in period. 200 miles so far.

I left Coventry this morning with an almost full tank, just 1 bar off full. Arrive in Slough 100 miles exactly (90% motorway) later with it just 1 bar above half. I don't have a charger at home yet. My average mpg was 38mpg. No traffic and speed around 70-85, driving with cruise control all the way.

I don't mind the mpg yet but my 200d Amgline would get me 3 round trips on a tank. All be it 15 litres bigger and an average mpg of 49.5.

I'll have to fill up every trip :(

This is what I've seen, I've done a few long drives (250miles) starting with a full charge and full tank and been down to <1/3 tank by the end. I filled up 3 times in 4 days once.
Once charge is depleted it sits around 35-40mpg at 75-80. This would be 440 miles max running to bone dry.

Some in another thread have been getting crazy ranges (>700miles) out of a tank, but I think this is heavy trafficked motorway and short trips (average mph of 28...)

As I said somewhere else, this is the only major problem I have with the car, and its laughable compared to a diesel. Everything else is great though!

I'm sure cruising at 65 would help, but I've got places to be!

Mine was built on the 9/4, collected from dealer 22/4, I found out (late on in the process) that the dealers have a 'General Information commission statement' which had all the key dates/ timelines for the vehicle.

We got a call yesterday, both our vehicles are being delivered this Friday!

Got the call! My C350e coming next Wednesday. Excited, feels like Christmas lol. First Mercedes, and pretty sure already it won't be my last!

I'm guessing mine is being delivered with yours!

Had mine booked in for delivery on the 5th, but I'm on holiday. Begged them to deliver it a bit earlier and they are dropping it off at my meeting in Reading on Tuesday!

Looking forward to the long drive home :D

Yes happened to mine at the weekend I had 35% charge as well, it would not go into electric at all and wouldn't cut out when stopped. switched the car off when I got to my destination and came back to it a couple of hours later still started on engine and wouldn't go into electric then after a couple of minutes driving it went back to normal operation and hasn't happened since?

Very strange indeed and e-mode could not be selected.

Mines done this a few times as well :(

Just joined this site and trying to :

a) search for anyone who has found a rubber boot mat / liner for the estate car so I can order it now (not for a dog - just to protect the floor)
b) read relevant posts, but the navigation tool on this forum (looks like I will be leaving it soon) is not at all helpful 194 pages re 350e is too much to read and the search facility is nothing like those on other forums I have been with for past 10 years!

Finally here.....

Mine arrived Friday.

Loving it so far but haven't covered many miles, finding the touchpad thing quite tricky to get used to, can't find how to put USB on random or turn off voice on satnav but i'm sure i'll get there.

When you are in the Nav screen use the voice command "guidance instructions off" or if you want it off all the time then when it issues a command just turn the volume down to 0. Easiest way to do that is to select last command.

I just press the mute key on the steering wheel, and I press it a lot :)

Usually I use satnav for all reasonable journeys even if I know exactly where I am going for the benefit of traffic info.

Just want to bump this to the top because there's a lot of good stuff in here that could answer questions from those who've just arrived or who have not had their cars for very long.

A little word of caution for those who are going through a lease company, have had their cars on order since before March with a post June delivery date.

My lease company needed to put my order back through my employers system, due to new 2017 spec - so I had to generate a new quote, add my extras back in, and resubmit. Only because I checked did the lease company remember to reapply the full government grant. I bet this is a bigger to resolve once you take delivery of the vehicle... You've been warned!

Also - does anyone know what the deal is with Mercedes and apple CarPlay? Seems to be in some models and not others, and wasn't in the latest C class refresh which I though it would be

I think any orders already in the system are price protected even though there is a price increase on the new MY version, at least thats what my lease company told me.

Apple CarPlay - is it a big deal ? i;m sure there was a user who had seen it in the US ( not sure which Merc model ) and said it wasn't very good.

oh and i still haven't actually seen a C350e never mind driven one - roll on July ......

Me (estate) and my colleague (saloon) are managing to get figures (connect me app) of around 70-90mpg (converted to imperial). I have filled up for the first time today so I can get some actual tank usage figures to verify.

I am charging at home and work, my colleague just at work. The journeys where you don't charge however soon brings that figure right down.

Anyone else had issues with the estates boot cover sometimes not going up when you open the boot? Can it be turned off/on (just throwing that in there in case my button pushing has done so....)

Arrived last week; love the blue!

Put around 600 miles on her since Wednesday; averaging about 44 mpg, but that is with 3 long 100+ mile journeys. My two 19 mile commutes into work this week have seen a return of 88.2 mpg. Very happy with that.

A quick question for those in the know; any idea how I use the voice control to make phone calls? I only have the standard specification car (company car), but the voice control only seems to relate to the sat-nav....

Is there a list somewhere of the recognised voice commands?

Cheers :thumb:

If it's anything like the previous versions you need to set up voice tags for the numbers stored.
If you say Help when in the telephony function Linguatronic should respond with a list of recognised voice commands relevant to that function

Lovely colour BTW :)

Thank you sir, you're a gent :D

ETA - Just had a check. No dice. It seems that you can't use the voice control for your phone; that seems ridiculous to be honest. Even my bog standard Audi A3 had phone voice controls....

So unless anybody knows differently, I'm a bit disappointed.

Mine has voice control and it accesses the phone book. 'Dial XX person' and it usually gets you there or at least a short list. Not sure if its there because prem + makes a difference or not.

Cheers mate, I think it is because you have the Prem + upgrade, so you have the COMAND system rather than the Audio 20.

It seems like a really big omission to make; I'd much rather have voice activated dialing instead of voice activated sat-nav...!
