C350e anyone considering one?

So - had a call from the dealer this morning. My car is scheduled for mid-July, and I almost dropped the phone with anticipation that I might get an earlier date.

No such luck.

However, she did share with me details of the changes to the C Class, and the c350e in particular, that are being introduced for cars manufactured from June onwards.

I really like the blue eyes, think they'll look great with the Brilliant Blue paint job.

So - I still need to wait another 3 months, but at least there is something new!

Ooh I like those lights. Not too sure how the blue badge will look against the hyacinth red that I've ordered but hey ho. Still no allocation for the order I placed back at the end of January so expected late July/early August according to the dealers estimate. Probably means September is more likely...

Seems a long time to wait. I ordered mine mid-Feb and it's arriving next week.

I couldn't agree more. Ordered mid Jan, and a 6 month wait for delivery. But there is very little I can do. I have to use LeasePlan, and they have their preferred dealer for this order. I can't afford to buy it privately. So I've made multiple calls/emails to both the dealer and LP - using a variety of nice/nasty, but to no avail.

But hey - I'm ultra excited, and it is only 3 more months. And it'll have the cool blue eyes, and hopefully the problems that some have experienced will all have been resolved.

PS - I did have a full 6Mb document on the other C class updates - but there's not much of note - and I don't have anywhere I can upload it

It may be part of the PHEV grant condition?

Would make sense that the government would want 'free' advertising that people are starting to drive EV cars

I quite like the fact that the 350e doesn't have any outward signs if being a hybrid. Not so 'holier than thou'!

The blue brake callipers are quite cool though

Hi Pmg102, mine is through LeasePlan too and now have a June build date with Mid July delivery after ordering end of Dec. They have confirmed it will come with new "blue" bits and trying to get the new Night Package added. Would you mind emailing the document? [email protected]

KirkA, when you receive it, perhaps you could upload it for us all?

Sure I can get it uploaded to Dropbox or something.

I ordered in Jan ( Brill Blue with everything except towbar and perfume thingy) , initially expected delivery late May and a month or so ago was advised it was delayed to late July - lucky for me I really like blue calipers. Not sure about the night package tho, although the wheels look like they have a darker ( black ) annondising on them over the standard 17" - anyone got more info on the night pack ?

Hi Tekky, yes it seems to have slightly blacker alloys, tinted windows and strips a lot of the chrome off the car.

I found some info here http://www.dpccars.com/gallery/index.php/Mercedes-C-Class-Night-Package-for-W205

I wouldn't want it myself but I think it will appeal to those that want the 350e in an AMG trim overall.

In terms of the upgrades, they seem largely cosmetic so, as a new owner, I am not feeling in any way cheated.

Mine was due 5th April, they've said its left the factory and arriving in the dealer 6th May with my colleagues due in 9th May. His was only delayed a few days from the original estimate. So I am assuming delivery on week commencing 9th may, like those blue highlights but happy I won't be getting the plug in badge.

19" AMG Replicas fitted
Really make a difference over the standard 17s. They haven't affected the handling of the car in a negative way.

I got them off eBay. If you search for 19" AMG alloys there will be plenty of seller's. The company I used are called Rims and Rubber based in Rotherham. £549 plus tyre's.

Hi all,

This is the best info source on the net for the c350e. Surprisingly I can find no in depth reviews on YouTube for this car.

I've ordered a black c350e sport saloon with grey artico.

I didn't order any of the packs as I don't feel need for better stereo, fully electric seats etc.

Could someone try to explain the performance to me. Eg, how is it compared to other cars you have experienced - try to put it in perspective etc.

This may sound daft but it's a company car for me and works out £200 pm cheaper than a 'normal' c class hence choosing this plus it's the fastest of the bunch (amg excluded) so I couldn't care less about mpg. 30mpg will do for me because even at that rate I will still be saving money compared to a normal c class. The reason I say this is I don't want the hassle of plugging in and to have a charger fitted at home. The question here is would not charging it in blunt the performance of the car or would full power always be available?

Also pics of black cars with grey artico welcome.....

Thanks all

hawthornlloyd, performance wise it goes like sh1t of a shiny shovel if you have it in sport+ mode. Its certainly not shabby in comfort mode either to be fair and it is very comfortable to drive.
Longest journey I have done is about 220 miles round trip and I got out with no back ache which I couldn't do in my 3 series BMW.

Ref the charging issue, I bought a charger to put in at home because there were some on ebay for £50. That said I have not bothered because I can charge it at work and I can commute on 1 charge. I also have a fuel card from work so there is no point in me charging at home. If you never want to plug it in you can charge it from the engine (obviously this reduces your fuel consumption). When it says it has no range left I believe I read somewhere that the car retains approx 20% battery for assisted performance when required. So to answer your question it does not blunt performance.

Thanks for the reply.

When you say it's quick could you put it in comparative terms/perspective for me? As saying it's quick depends on perspective/previous cars.

Cheers
