C350e anyone considering one?

You know what? I think you're right. It did feel more lumpy in Eco.
Why??

At a guess, the airmatic suspension must use some power so perhaps they put it into a low power mode where it doesn't adapt and cushion as much?

im up to 16 miles shown on full charge now!! not sure if that is from better driving or just the battery getting "bedded in" if they do that?!
Absolutely love the car started using e-save and noticed that is does trickle charge the battery, so guessing when I have to do my weekly long drive down the motorway that may be the best mode to use?
Anyone have any ideas what the depreciation values are likely to be on these for 2 years and 3 years?

Probably best not to think about it!

Plenty of approved used ones about which will give you an idea of what they are retailing for after a year.

Will have a look as the one I have got is a lease with option to purchase at the end!

60 mpg on long motorway journeys ! I can't better 45 mpg on long motorway journeys

My daily journey of 21 miles I do get >99.9

Just a quick update, the NHS Fleet Solutions connected me up to the "connect services".

I mentioned to them that this was part of the reason I ordered the car and it was free for 3 years. No problem - was connected that day without taking it to an MB garage.

James.

A quick question for you all.... I have the standard C350e Sport, does it do speech to text message, and if so, how do I get it to work..??

Each time i press the speech button on the right hand side of the steering wheel, the sat nav comes on.

Thanks,

James.

Unfortunately not. It only works for plumbing in Satnav directions. Who'd have thought this day and age on a £40k car. Then again the number of Range Rover drivers I see holding there phone up to their ear amazes me. Is it just me that's noticed it? Bluetooth must be a major upgrade lol.

I think I'm getting sadder by the day I now take keyless entry for granted but amazed by now finally having a temperature readout following last weeks service. Having said that I now also have a tapping noise coming from the windscreen on th motorway. I mentioned that I had noticed road noise from the front drivers window and wasn't sure if it's normal and only noticing it due to how quiet the car was. I was told they are looking into it as certain models had issues. It seems he may have misinterpreted and had the front windscreen out to check and haven't put it back correct. Maybe I'm just getting paranoid!:dk:

I generally have individual setting with suspension and steering as sport, air as comfort and engine as eco. Now at 18k miles I generally get 40mpg and even got 47mpg on a decent run all without charging. Makes a big difference in eco mode as the engine breaks a lot more for you to regenerate. Doesn't feel so sporty but kinda getting used to waft around everywhere instead of screaming around. Makes you appreciate it more when you do engage hyperdrive, I mean sport+. Having said that I find I use sport more than sport+, as the latter holds each gear longer so does sound like you are revving the pants off it even when you are slowing down after an overtake. Don't know why but I find myself quickly manually going up a gear to calm it down. Sport is just like a normal quick car changing up when you back off the accelerator.

Sorry, also forgot to mention after 18k miles I still have 4mm tread on the back and 6mm on the front. The guy at Mercedes was quite shocked as folk apparently have only been getting 8k to 12k on the first set. Perhaps all that charging and using electric so instant torque is shredding rubber. Be interesting to hear what other folk are getting out of their tyres? I'm not exactly driving miss daisy either at times, pretty mixed driving.

Good to see a high quality video of the car, however it's quite misleading:
- Did it say about 1/3 of all miles had been electric (engine off) and that the owner did lots of motorway miles. These don't match up, unless he just spends lots of time on the M25/M42 in queues.
- 60MPG on a motorway trip is also fantasy, as said above, best I've seen is 45, but typically 40-42 indicated.

People will buy the car based on those kinds of numbers and be disappointed.
Another thing that took me a while to work out was the position of the passenger airbag light, I thought it must be a change for the newer spec of car, but then figured out there was no analogue clock!

Re the AMG pack above, while it does look nicer, and I would spec it now, I'm not so sure about the flat bottom steering wheel. All normal cars I've driven with one it just feels odd when manoeuvring. I wanted the black (rather than brown) open pore wood, but it wasn't available at my time of ordering. I looks properly good in the flesh (grain?)

Finally I did a bit of tinkering in my mileage spreadsheet to try and work out the actual comparable MPG. Obviously only comparing fuel in misses the cost of charging. Previously I've just done this by pence per mile but it’s a bit of a meaningless measure in terms of day to day for me.

So far I'm getting 42.8 MPG based on actual fuel in. However when I build in the cost of charging (and equate the cost to as if I'd put the equivalent petrol in) I end up with 39.3. Not too shabby for such a heavy and fast car.

I read CAR magazine and they have a 178PS 2.0 diesel XE on long term test and its only done 43MPG over 9 months.

8 months of driving - mostly town and A roads. Car charged once a day, most days. Here are the stats:

6000 miles
Av 51.3mpg
Av speed 25mph
Engine off 3071 miles

Just thought I'd post official figures too so we can see the variance amongst us.... I have only ever charged a handful of times at work over the last 10 months.

Miles driven 18375 miles
Engine off 5020 miles
Average mph 32
Average mpg 36.6

That said a lot of the low mpg was when the car was running in and I guess with me seeing what it can do. I reckon the average now would be 38-40mpg with now getting 42-46mpg on longer journeys. Engine on eco mostly which I like as it brakes for me... boy I have become a lazy driver with this car. :D

2194 miles
1108 engine off
Avg speed 27 mph
Avg economy 59 mpg

Lots of short journeys on electric (charged nearly every night) and a few long journeys, mostly on motorways.

Do a fair bit is all electric driving and charge every day and just changed mine @ 9500 miles edges of tyre perfect centre was down to 1.6. comment was sir has a heavy right foot :D
FYI Ave mpg is 51.

4949 miles
3580 engine off
Avg speed 30 mph
Avg economy 95.1 mpg

If I continue like this the engine itself will have done about 10k st the end of my 3 year lease!

If you're missing the elusive 135 mpg benchmark, the rest of us have no chance! Come on everyone - can you beat @TheCorm's economy?
