C350e anyone considering one?

How do you use the sat nav in dynamic mode? I have the standard sat nav and can't find an option. Do I need the upgraded sat nav from the premium plus pack?

Ah. Sorry. I don't know. Are there any menus or options you can rummage in?

Been through all the menus in the sat nav, can't find anything.
Do you have the premium pack?

I don't have the premium pack and my satnav seems to be automatically set to use live traffic information, if that's what you mean by dynamic. I don't use satnav much, but the rerouting makes a suggestion fairly often. I take it yours never has?

The live traffic info drives me mad!
I drove the car to London over the weekend and every mile the sat nav told me about roadworks on the A5 and that it wasn't affecting my route time. The A5 wasn't even in the route it worked out for me!

Had a couple of warnings in the car on the journey there and back, the first was that the ABS, EBD and Stability control weren't functioning, and on the way back it told me that the Radar sensors weren't working as they were dirty. The weather was pretty dreadful and I drove to London and back from Leeds in constant spray. No warnings now the car is dry.

Anyone else experienced this?

Also, range is improving. I've found that if you try and drive it everywhere on electric like you would a petrol car (up hills etc) it uses a lot of electricity, driving it carefully and swapping to ICE for hills, heavy acceleration etc and then using the electric to coast seem to extend the range a fair bit on the display. Last week I was down to 13 miles, this morning it was 16, using e-save for the first mile or two saw it increase to 18 at one point.

Think it's a matter of working out how best to use the electric and planning my route better. It's not like some of the other hybrids that are designed to run electric only for the first 20 miles or so, this seems to be set up to supplement the petrol drive rather than run full electric as much as it can.

Last winter I lost distronic and other 'aids' including the ILS twice in poor weather. As you say, it was spray on the cameras / sensors so it isn't something you can do anything about. During the winter I found the electric range to be so small to not bother with trying to preserve it or better it !

Any idea if Mercedes will bring a Command release that's compatible with Spotify.

I'm using an Android and most times if I leave the car for more that 2 minutes once I start off again the device is paused. The only way to resolve is to pull over go into the handset and press play again.

It works fine with my music gallery but not so with Spotify.

Any ideas? I'm guessing its no better with Apple.

Thanks
Jat

And we're back to 13 miles on the range this morning, weirdly though I've done the same journey as I did the other day when I had 18 miles of range using e-save at the same points etc and I have 3% more electric remaining than I did with 18 miles of range.
Not sure I believe the range number...

If anyone ever works out exactly how the range guessometer works, I'll be shocked (and I'm including its designers in my definition of "anyone"). Range is just a function of charge level, adjusted for driving style, road type and weather conditions. It's definitely not the voodoo that the the range display tells us...

Hi, re sat nav - I've noticed that within Mercedes me / activated services you can turn off the Live Traffic Information. Suppose the trade off is some information that may be relevant as opposed to no useful info at all!

On the subject of Activated Services, does every one have all of them activated?

So this morning my range was 13 miles when I set off, I'd lost two miles of that in 40 yards...
So into E-Save we went for the uphill couple of miles and it crept back up to 12.

I stopped for petrol, filled up, turned the ignition on and it had gone up to 13.
Within half a mile it was up to 18.

I've driven 12 miles (10 of which on electric) and I'm down to 4 miles...

I think the bottom line is that the range is purely fiction and means nothing in the real world.

My C350e estate in brilliant blue arrived today!

Thrilled to receive my c350e estate sport in brilliant blue, after so much deliberation on colour choice, brilliant blue with the tinted rear quarter really suits the car, I've had so many compliments.IMG_5169.jpg

Just received my c350e estate sport in brilliant blue, tinted windows arrived today, I received fantastic service from Colin Hood, at Mercedes Benz in Perth. He killed all the southern dealer on price too. 3+ 35, 12K p/a, £370 plus VAT p/month. You cant put premium packs on the state as the pano glass and wheels put the cO2 emissions up because of the extra weight, and you don't get the government grant. really happy with the sport spec.

Anybody else got the c350e with the night package?

My charging flap snapped off when I knocked it removing the charger. I feel it is not robust enough for persistent use and exposure to the elements. MB are refusing to replace under warranty, did you challenge this and how much did it cost to remove bumper and replace?

How did you get on getting the flap replaced? Is it really all one part with the bumper? That would explain why the flap itself doesn't have a part number on it....

My wife has just snapped hers off by literally brushing it with a coat whilst it was open.
They are ridiculously flimsy for a part that is designed to be manually operated multiple times every day.

Spotted an X5 40e in the supermarket carpark today. Didn't realise they did one, I guess the list of PHEVs gets ever longer

I must agree about the charge flap, an incredibly fragile part which more thought should have gone into.
I have a charge point at home so charge every day, I knocked it within the first two weeks of having the car and got away with the body coloured cover simply coming off (easily put back on), I've had a feeling it was an accident waiting to happen since then.
Two days ago (now 5 months old) I caught it while unplugging in the morning and sure enough off it snapped completely.
Thankfully with the help of a bit of araldite and some epoxy putty I've managed to fix it back in place, I think it's sitting a few mm proud of the surface now when it's closed but I may be imagining that.
I'll be taking the car in soon to get a squeaking noise in one of the rear door locks looked at and will be asking about the flap then so would be interested to hear what other people have found.
Overall I think the car is great though....even with the ridiculously easy to scratch alloys!

I also think the flap will get badly scratched by the finger press when dirty, why they didn't fit a remote release either by button near the boot release or key fob defeats me.

My wife knocked our charging cap off as well!

I lease mine through work and it was fixed while I got a couple of other warranty issues fixed.
