C350e anyone considering one?

This might be a stupid question.

Will the car still be able to start if the battery dies?

Anyone help?

So in true, even if the battery dies completely , I can still run the car like normal 250

In theory, yes. But the systems will never allow the battery to become so depleted.

However to get the benefit of the car you do need to plug it in. Otherwise you might as well have bought a straight forward petrol or diesel model.

Hi captain , thanks for the info.

I am more of a person that think the worst possible scenario.

I am afraid what if one day the battery just decided to die on me .

Thanks

Hi guys , could someone enlighten me with some facts?

I am wondering why c350e is using 7gplus gearbox and not 9g?

Also is 7gplus any good?

The electric motor is built into the gearbox itself from what I understand. Seeing as the 9G gearbox is quite new, it's probably just not had time to be developed.

For what it's worth, the 7G gearbox in the 350e is much much better than the 7G gearbox in the E220 (2013 reg) I had prior to it. The old car had a really sluggish gear change, ie, when it decided to rather than when you hit the paddle. The software in the 350e is very responsive and gear changes in S+ mode are near instant.

I had the same concerns as you when I came from the E, expected it to be a bit limp but nothing to worry about.

The gearbox response can also be improved by doing a reset :-

Turn ignition on. Do not start
Press accelerator to floor.
Wait at least 10 seconds
Turn ignition off
Release pedal
Wait 2 mins

How did you find this?? :thumb:

It's all over the web and there are a number of posts here about it. YouTube has several videos. Apparently the box adapts to the style of driving. If someone else is also driving, even occasionally, then you may need to do the reset.

that "do not turn on engine" is a very important do-not-skip step in this process. Miss that step and put your foot flat on the gas, you'll be left figuring out how you ended up in the opposite neighbours driveway ;)

Hi all,

Just would like to know in overall what are all c350e user review for the car?

I know we can find professional reviews in the internet. But I believe more in user review .

If you plough through all of this and the other C350e Owners Club thread you'll certainly get a lot of reviews !! I think they split into 3 camps -
1) Very happy all round
2) Happy with the car but disappointed with a real world average of only 45mpg
3) those who have had major problems with the car including the water ingress into the electrical system and wind noise

  1. Very comfortable, relaxing cabin
  2. Fantastic pre-entry climate control
  3. Doesn't handle like a BMW (maybe I should use sport mode more)
  4. Switch from regenerative braking to friction braking not easy to make smooth
  5. Fantastic economy and emissions on short journeys
  6. Boot is a little small thanks to the batteries
  7. Love the silly things like remote locking, vehicle tracking, etc. Feels very modern
  8. Overall, very pleased with it. I'd be surprised if it's not the first of many electric vehicles in my life

What can we do in regards to the wind noise ?

Hi guys, took my car delivery two days ago.

I realised even with the battery fully charged , the cluster shows that's it can travel 24km on electric.

Wondering what is all your travel distance on e mode?

Oh no, I am starting to regret a little as the battery is huge but distance travelled is so little ?

Any experience owner to enlighten me ?
