C350e anyone considering one?

Watch out with the 10 month lead time, that's outside OLEV's allowed order timeframe for the grant money. They'll only ring fence the money if delivered within 9 months- I checked this with OLEV directly.
If it exceeds 9 months they'd need to reapply for grant money, and the grant could have changed by then.

This from OLEV:
"The only way the grant amount would not be honoured is if the vehicle takes longer than 9 months to be delivered, as a 9 month limit is in place. The order would then need to be re-entered onto the portal, by which point the grant amounts may have changed. "

Of course, the grant could be the same. Nobody knows, yet. On a lease, even a £1000 reduction to the grant would be quite a price shift unless it's a long lease. You'd also likely need to get updated pricing at the time, though you'd need to check with your leasing company.
Not wishing to wet your bonfire at all, just be aware! The only facts we know are, 10 months is too long to guarantee the £5k grant.
It's been changed to 12 months ...JBD said about it on this thread or the " What do you want to know " thread ..plus I don't think lease companies are using the grant hence the price going up by £100 a month

Can anyone advise me on how one has to specify the C350e to have electric seats? On the standard specification list, the C350e showed electric front seats, but now it is not clear to me whether fore and aft electrical adjustment is included.

Thanks!

I think on a standard C350e it comes with electric drivers seat and if you add prem you get both seats electric

Does that mean the standard one come with both seats electric but not memory ?

Standard seats come with electric height and backrest adjustment on both front seats. They are manual to slide the seat forward and backwards. If you want fully electric seats, you'll need to get the premium package, which also gets you memory seats and lumbar support

JBD - have you heard this one about deliveries of the C350e.

My dealer gave me the date of delivery to them of 3 Sept but as it was the sales manager (the salesman is on holiday) he admitted that he had heard of 'issues' so he checked with the factory. He called be back to tell me, and I do believe him, that the cars are being manufactured but they are waiting for a part to be fitted to all of them which they expect to start coming through next week so if my delivery was effected he didn't expect it to be more than a week or two late. What do you think.

We have had one fall back from July to October this week. When were you originally given that date? When did you last ask what the date was? It would have moved back by now if there was an issue

Hi All,

Just stumbled across this forum - very informative reading up on the different aspects of C350e ordering and potential delivery implications.

Looks like there are a few people on here with access to MB systems so was just wondering if anyone could advise the current situation with regards to allocation and build dates if an order were placed now?

Spoke to my local dealer today and he rang MB UK as he was showing no allocation currently and was told nothing would be available Sept/Oct but that they would receive more allocation November with build dates December/January.

Does this sound realistic or is he telling stories to secure an order. Really like the look of the new C class but with the imminent arrival of BMW & VW PHEV's not sure if I should order or hold out a few months?

I am not sure about allocation but I just ordered my C350e and have a 10 month wait

JBD. I did the deal back in March with the confirmed order of 19th May saying "non binding delivery 1st Sept". 2 weeks ago the salesmen said it was still looking good for 1st Sept but may slip but no more than 2 weeks. Then yesterday sales manager said 3rd Sept but could slip no more than a couple of weeks.

What do you think of £ 30k px for a April 14 plate 350CDI CLS AMG Line with 20k on it (I paid £ 42k) . I got £ 8k discount plus £ 5k Grant off so paying £ 34k for a list of £ 47k (virtually every option ticked). I thought the cost to change at £ 4k seemed fair - the CLS being worth more but the C350e discount exceptional on a car with 6+ months waiting. Would appreciate your thoughts.

We're not doing anything off the C350e because it's in such high demand, so I think you did well. If it's still saying septber, I think you're pretty safe

Allocation comes several times per quarter and they'll just place orders in the order they took them. Your local dealer will know how many orders they have taken, so you're just going to have to trust them. We're currently quoting March next year, but we are expecting production numbers to increase from January

Hoping mine is on course still for delivery 2nd October but too frightened to check!

With the new '16 changes & options I've gone for the Dark Ash trim which wasn't available when I ordered. I wanted the Black Ash but that's only available on the AMG. I posted an image earlier but that was just from the config on MB website. This one I think shows the new trim option better.

This is a matt finish and not gloss. I'd ordered in May and just had the change confirmed by MB and no impact to my delivery date.
Still December though.

Thanks to hybridlover for the original document upload showing the changes.
