C350e anyone considering one?

Its interesting how most of us don't see the point in new things until we have them and then wouldn't do without them. Parking sensors, reversing lights (yes we didn't always have those), puddle lights, cruise control, auto gearboxes and heated seats to name a few.

I doubt that you will be upgrading your E-Class anytime soon then :)
Only for an estate of the same kind if I find one.

But all you have mentioned have some sense in terms of safety, performance or comfort and none of these can be applied to glowing handles except bling. And after all this is nothing new, boyracers already used glowing neons on their super duper ultra fast Corsas.
I just wanted to say that such "improvements" are unnecessary for MB. At least not my cup of tea.

I would need to see them in operation but it could be that the "glowing handles" are actually puddle lights and if so very useful.

Looks like the puddle lighting is coming from under the wing mirror per the picture above, the handles just lit up for fun.
Or so it looks.

I quite like it, but I agree it's a bit blingy ;)
Most of the MB range is now. Blame Lewis Hamilton

I had a 7 series which had externally lit handles and they looked really cool and upmarket in my opinion anyway, hoping my vehicle will have them anyway.

Did read in a post in a forum elsewhere a conversation regarding these LEDs and apparently they can be toggled on or off in the vehicle settings menu.

Your so right but after having keyless I would not have again if I had option keep for getting my keys ...I do wonder if I will be able to park myself after having auto park

Deane - curious. Why would you not choose keyless again if it were an option?

Yes, you will have a hard task, in fact I think impossible, to persuade me to give up keyless. I haven't seen my key, it is in a small bag, for years. If I leave the house the ability to open and start the car is in my pocket :)

As I've been driving diesel cars for the last 20+ years I'm hoping that current petrol cars have some sort protection against filling with the wrong fuel!

Old habits die hard and a rough calculation shows I've filled up over 1100 times with the black smelly stuff.

Looking forward to getting back to petrol especially with the C350e and it's abundance of assisted torque.

Diesel pumps normally have a much fatter nozzle - you shouldn't be able to fit it into a petrol car.

Some diesels have a mechanism that requires a fatter nozzle to open an internal flap - so with some diesels a petrol nozzle will fit but will get blocked slightly further down as this mechanism activates to stop misfueling.

Dryce is correct, there is a difference in nozzle size which should confound you.
However if you do manage to misfuel the 350e the financial consequence will be tolerable, not the thousands reported by some that has been imposed on diesel drivers for such a simple momentary lack of concentration :)

As its a company car the financial consequence might be tolerable however the embarrassment consequence wouldn't be :)

I'd never hear the end of it. Lol

Thanks to Dryce and yourself for responding.

It's nothing against keyless it's just me , before I had keyless on my last two cars , I would go to my car with keys in hand no problem , now I think I have them in pocket or think wife has them , go to car only to find there still in the house  and if front door has closed , I then have to go and get spare from neighbour , so end up standing at my house door holding it open shouting to wife "you got the keys" whilst checking all my pockets

In a small bag ?? Not a bum bag or man bag I hope lol

Electric cars; you cannot be serious?

The electricity at charging points is generated by the burning of fossil fuels in this country so they are no more environmentally clean than a diesel!

Have your milk float if you must, but the lead mined in south America, the industrial refining process, the transportation by cargo ship thousands of miles, and the battery manufacturing process, pushes the car's total 'Carbon foot-print' up to and beyond a vehicle with an internal combustion engine!

Until battery technology under goes a revolution, they remain untenable from a green house gas point of view.

How many litres of milk can you get in the back of yours anyway?

Cheers,
Robert

At last after 55 pages of posts we get our first troll :D
Welcome :)

The idea is not as crazy as you imagine :)
In fact it is a bag marginally larger than the fob, originally supplied with my present car to keep the car's wheel locking nut in. It serves today to keep the fob in pristine condition protecting it from any loose coins etc in my pocket and at the same time removes an abrasive surface rubbing on my trouser pocket.
So now you know :D

Its about BIK not green issues.

Dont feed the troll.

I'm not interested in BIK at all. I'm just looking forward to almost free motoring around town and city and the occasional use of that 600 Nm of torque just to show off :D

Get real because electric don't come from wind turbines or solar panels , any way it's a hybrid so fast and economical it's a win win , if it's good enough for formula 1 it's good enough for me , must be nice paying all that road tax lol mine is free , if you don't move with the times why don't you have steam powered car oh and no congestion charge lol http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ear...ris-and-ban-diesel-cars-campaigners-warn.html http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/...rt-rules-Government-tackle-air-pollution.html
