What colour etc have you gone for ?

Just a month to go :)

Just a month to go :)

A week to go before production :)

Hopefully!

Spoke to the dealer earlier in the week and he said all was to schedule though so fingers crossed!

Is anyone aware of a factory- or dealer-fit option or package that includes an in-built remote for electric garage door access, please?

Thank you in advance.

Suggest you post in a different forum, general perhaps. Certainly there are suppliers of car garage door remote controllers. Most petrol heads don't visit us here :D

The price seems to equate to £ 50k+. Didn't realise Merc's in Germany cost so much more than here

Indeed this is a special place where we seek to re-assure ourselves that one day we will actually be owners of this mysterious vehicle, whilst gaining support to prevent insanity taking over in the meantime.

Now I am off to an electric vehicle forum to learn about stereotypes and snobbery ;)

My SLK has now been through it's inspection prior to be collected next week. Still hoping my C350e delivery date hasn't changed...although the dealer has been rather quiet lately. Still none the wiser to my registration number/VIN info etc :s

The car should be arriving at the dealership a week today so I'm not far off now fingers crossed!

What are they key things people want to know about the car that remain unanswered? I might try and do a video or photo summary to try and answer them once my car has arrived if anyone was interested. I'll be doing a 100 mile drive the day after picking up the car so maybe we'll finally see how the real world motorway mpg stacks up!

I also heard that the usable portion of the battery is 4.4kWh, anyone else seen that confirmed anywhere?

Hi everyone!

Update after first 1000 miles of ownership. Firstly the excitement hasn't worn off!! So far I'm averaging 61.4mpg with regular charging. I did a 120 mile round trip today and charged at my stop and managed 61mpg. The trick I guess was to use the charge setting whilst driving at crushing motorway speeds and then found that after about 25-30 miles I had 100% battery again and I was good to go another 15 miles solely on battery. Other things to consider is the AC as this takes at least 2 miles of electric range off the total!! Command on line is good as it means u can track ur charge state and use the pre entry climate control. Also allows u to schedule charging times if u need. Used my first public charging point today and a little fiddly to start with but managed to get it going. Iv read on other forums how some are badly mistreated and found one of the two I had available to not be working. I guess the onus is on all us EV drivers to help maintain the system by ensuring charges are put back correctly as in so frustrating getting to a charger to find its not working!!! Only real niggle I have is that the traffic on command doesn't seem to be working. Also please remember the haptic feedback on the accelerator pedal only works when the drive train is in economic mode. Again the same for hybrid route optimisation. It needs to be in eco mode for it to regulate the charge!! Couple of pics for the readouts attached!!

Gahhhhhh I spoke too soon! Just had a call from the dealer and mine has apparently now slipped back to the 5th October for delivery to the dealership.

No wonder they'd gone rather quiet with any information.

Waiting on a confirmation call to detail exactly what's going on but looks like I'll be car-less for at least 3 weeks now and with that break I guess I'll also have to cancel my insurance policy and lose my no-claims for this year :(

Thank you for this.

Very helpful.

Can you also share some photos please... Would love to see it !#

@FM123

Thank you for your report, most interesting.
Just for now a couple of questions if I may.
Did each and every journey from home start in electric mode ?
And you mention charging on motorway journeys, which I presume didn't require much braking and I wonder if you noticed the charging effect of braking generally?

Thank you for this.

@ Driver 15, unfortunately I have used up my allowance of uploads on this forum so can't put anymore photos. I did post some a while back when I first got the car. Sorry

@350e

Yes, all my journeys start in electric mode as I have a home rolec charger. You get to see the recharge each time u brake or coast and the 3 quartered circle u must have seen monitors how much additional miles you have accomplished. This splits it into 3 categories, acceleration, coasting and something called balance. For instance when I did my 120 mile round journey this displayed suggested I had achieved an addition 32 miles of electric range. If u choose distronic plus again this is a clever feature as it senses the car in fronts deceleration and uncoupled the drive train so it regenerates.
Finally I also managed to set up the alert do that the car sends me an email everytime it reaches full charge!!
Any other questions please give me a shout.
