C350e anyone considering one?

FM123 is driving around in his and kindly telling us all about his experiences. It would be very remarkable if his is the only 350e on the road in the UK.
Fact is most owners will not ever come on here, too busy enjoying their car perhaps :)

Ive just found out today that my 350e will arrive end of Nov - but i did order on the 3/3/15 MB Corporate London.

Does anyone know how many are here? any Estates about?

I spoke to Customer Service and they said they would try to get more info within the next 5 working days ! The dealer was adamant that the problem was not just with my car but that delivery from Germany has been put on stop. They believe a fault has been discovered that effects all builds from a date and no c350e's are being allowed to leave Germany until the cars have been checked / repaired / verified. I would really appreciate you telling us what your dealer says so I can narrow down whether it is all cars or just mine.

If customer service take 5 working days to get back to me I'll have no time to extend my current lease. Come on Mercedes...it shouldn't be this hard to get some updates!

As soon as I know anything Wivenhoe I'll let you know!

You can use a 32a, but the car will only draw its max. getting a 32a is just for future proofing for very little extra cost.

I looked at getting 32a but the 2 quotes I received were £ 100 & £ 150 more and as the C350e doesn't use the greater capacity it seemed a waste. I don't have any confidence that the 32a is future proof as I think in a couple of years they will all be using different technology. That said, the main point was Chargemaster's installers couldn't do it for 3 weeks and I wanted it this week - ironical as my car is stuck in Germany with no delivery date.

Hi

I have just heard my car has been brought forward, (yep you heard right) from January to November. So now feel safe coming out the shadows to join the fun.

BTW its a C350e estate with premium plus, gutted about the bik but still a lot less than my C220 and more toys.

If they are bringing forward delivery dates it must because people are cancelling !!!

I've had a Brilliant Blue C350e Estate on order since 20 Aug, so not that long, and was quoted a 16 week minimum lead time. Lease company been talking to my HR Dept and have said they can "significantly reduce" the lead time if I will accept a Obsidian Black car with 4m charging leads and not the 8m leads I ordered. I'll post more info when it comes, but I suspect Wivenhoe is correct about people cancelling.

Damn 350e, there I was thinking that I was the only one!!! :thumb:

But like you i'm sure there must be others out there in the UK who have had delivery by now! I got mine on the 08th August.

It would be nice to hear from others how there experiences are going.

I have been speaking to Mercedes Fleet management and from what they said production is being ramped up.

Unfortunately they also confirmed connect me will be disabled as not allowed by my leasing company , but They are working on a fleet friendly version , but no time-scale on this

Still struggling to find out any further news about my delivery - the dealership is chasing the factory and reckon they can't get a straight answer. I've chased via Twitter and I'm promised customer services will call me "Asap" but I've had no response in 2 days.

This is turning into quite a stressful experience!

My experience of MB customer service is that they are just apologists are are in the dark as much as anyone else and have zero influence to change or speed up events.

My dealer just called - the block on my car has been lifted and the car will leave Bremen tomorrow and be delivered to the dealer 23rd Sept. He told me that my call to Customer Service yesterday seemed to speed things up - worth a try. I provided a reg and VIN number and this seemed to help.

If you have / or can get a VIN I suggest you log the car on Connect Me and that will give you reassurance the car exists on the system. Mine disappeared when I had the problem but has now re-appeared.

Nice one wivenhoe, this is really encouraging!

At what stage did you get the VIN number?

The dealer gave me the VIN about 1 week before the scheduled delivery date. It's one of the reasons we believed the car was in the UK as it must have left the factory - Wrong !

Did you ask before that time ?

No. It didn't occur to me. I think that they should be able to provide it when they say the system shows the car has been manufactured - if they can't then I would suspect that the car has not been made.

It is taking about 2 weeks from release at Bremen to get the car to the dealer so if you take that off your delivery date then that is approximately when they should be in a position to provide the VIN. Hope this helps

Just had an email from the dealership forwarded on from a daimler.com email saying:

"Vehicle is showing as no holds/delays set against it and there is a scheduled final inspection date showing for the 22nd September 2015. Please continue to monitor the vehicle in CESAR order snapshot. Once the vehicle is dispatched from the factory you will be able to request priority shipment from vehicle logistics."

So...with that in mind, when is it likely to turn up, if it's not even going to be inspected for another 11 days?

Wonder how freq the shipping is and where the ship goes from, to and via...
At a guess I would say these german built cars go up to Holland for shipping, then to hull, and then beyond..

(note- I have seen new mercs arriving in hull)
