C350e anyone considering one?

Just been advised by the leasing company that the Obsidian Black C350e I've agree to accept in lieu of a Brilliant Blue vehicle will be delivered in early October. If I'd stuck with Blue it would have been a Jan 16 delivery at the earliest.

Happy Birthday!

Mine is Monday, hopefully!!

Incidentally my dealer said I should be able to have the VIN number next week, assume this is assigned pretty early on to keep track.

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post but I read nearly all of this thread tonight.

I've just bought one today as an ex demo which came off just this week. Bit of a drama though because whilst doing the deal on a car today another dealer stole it. Thankfully sorted in the end.

Getting out of a BMW 330d m sport but drove a c350e and the ride quality was leagues better. I don't get the noise issues the reviews talk about either. On the motorway at just over the legal limit it was really quiet.

I do 40000 miles per year so it's going to be quite a decent experiment.

I pick it up on Wednesday and will keep you posted. Seems a shame that some seem to be having issues at the moment. I trust my car will be issue free after 4000 miles running in!

Hi Dan and congratulations.

Did you get the chance to put your foot down in the C350e?

Keen to know how performance compared to the 330d

If it's a company car, presume it is, then the BiK saving should be pretty spectacular :)

Wow !!! Dealer selling a Demo when my local MB Worcester will not get one until End of Feb.....nice one Dan.

Still waiting for my fleet 350e Estate, counting the days.....

Weirdly the guy running it at the dealer never charges it. When I got in it had 7% battery so didn't give it the full beans but had about 25 mins in it up the A1. It felt quick enough but very different in power delivery to the beemer. Makes a big difference sitting a bit higher up too. Interesting that without being charged the trip stated 33mpg! It had 17% battery by the time I got back.

Not sure if people are looking in the right places but ex demo are on the mb website under petrol engined rather than hybrid which is strange. I can tell you there are still a few for sale from £35k and the Newcastle dealer has a nice palladium one coming off fleet mid November. That's a 2016 model year, the one I'm getting is 2015 despite being 3 months old!

Saving literally ££££'s from the tax man :-)

Congrats on the purchase. Look forward to the photos and review

33mpg, sounds like the car may of been in charge mode of the range increased that much.

Dan. Did you manage to get a discount or have to pay full list ?

I did get a small discount but essentially they are charging list less £5k for the government grant. I think the discount was around £1700 off a £39,950 (after gov grant) listed car but the trade in was good and the finance was too.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on stealing a march on us :)
Now the obvious question which I am sure many would like to know is which dealer sold a demonstrator ?
We have been looking for one just to try, never mind take possession of.

They will get in trouble if he tells.;-)

Why will they be in trouble, is it an illegal transaction ?
I have to say that it is nonsense.

The dealer isn't supposed to 're-allocate or sell a demo early due to vat reasons. MB UK gets the hump as well due to customer allocation s. I know this from personal experience

Oh, behave. :D

Many dealers will sell their stock early if the price is right.

There can't be a restriction on selling an older model. It is general practice to move them on after a very few months. More surprising to me is that it existed somewhere at all as a demonstrator;:)

As far as I am aware when a dealer brings a car in and it's for demo purposes they don't have to declare it for VAT in the same way they would if it was for direct resale, might be other tax exemptions as well.

Not sure there is a minimum period to go from demo stock to resale stock else all vehicles would presumably be brought in this way.

From what I understand its 3months for vat exemption
