C350e anyone considering one?

It's via a lease as a company car.
Interesting. I am still of the view, mentioned elsewhere , that procurement via a third party is often associated with longer delivery periods when compared with a direct transaction with an MB dealership.

Company car, confirmed as ordered with MB mid June, build slot confirmed 4 weeks later, due at dealer late January. Plain White Estate, no options.

Not sure thats a realistic delivery date, based on my experience, I ordered in March 2015, and just on Monday my build date was the 12th Jan 2016 with the poss option it may slip further due to "factory delays".

End result would be delivery in Feb at the very earliest.

That's a No then

Just had a reply from my Council regarding my request for on street charging point.

I understand that you will shortly take delivery of an electric vehicle but have no dedicated facility to make the overnight charge. From earlier correspondence, you are aware that in support of Central Government’s Plugged in Places grant initiative the Council installed 7 charging points in the town for general use. This was done in the context of Government policy for the development of electric vehicle infrastructure, which is currently founded on the notion that EV owners will carry out their main charge at home.* This of course assumes that the majority of owners will have off-street parking capability, which is not universally applicable. *The posts we have provided are subject to a waiting time of 3 hours because they were installed to provide short-term top-ups for EV drivers that needed that facility rather than being installed to provide longer charging times.

*

The Council is aware of the advice from the Office of Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) and the Guidance for local authorities on grants to provide residential on-street and rapid chargepoints for plug in vehicles. Notwithstanding the opportunities provided by Central Government through the grant, there are some potential impacts on the local authority which have to be taken into account. These include,

*

The grant fund covers only 75% of the capital costs of procuring and installing the chargepoint and associated dedicated parking bayRevenue and maintenance costs are not covered by the grantThe number of requests which could come forward and which meet the eligibility criteria is unknown which could place a significant financial commitment on the Council There are back office functions associated with administering the scheme. This will have an increased resource implication on staffing levelsProvision of chargepoints in residential areas has implications for on street parking, particularly in high density areas and controlled parking zones which has not been fully considered at this point

*

At the moment therefore, there are no immediate plans to sign up to the grant fund but please be assured that the Council will keep this matter under review

No surprise there :(

I ordered in April with delivery date late November. Due to some last config changes (replaced privacy glass with Burmester) delivery date changed to mid October. Dealer informed me today the car is expected at dealer on October 2nd, this Friday. It's an estate.

PS. Living in The Netherlands, but also here there is nothing sensible to say on the order date VS delivery date. It's all over the place.

I'm not sure if there is any logic to it. A colleague at my company ordered a saloon after me in May and has been updated from October which was same as mine to December which is before my expected delivery date of January.

Mine was born yesterday, according to dealers feedback last week. Have not heard anything different, so I am happily ignorant to any possible delays. Should have it on plates mid Oct. Fingers X-ed

@ uumode

Have you placed the order directly with a Mercedes dealership or through a third party like a lease company ?

I'll email my contact at the dealer tomorrow but I have been given my build date which is 9th January...seems odd that it's 3 days ahead of yours although I ordered 3 months later.

Ordered through main dealer's head office central procurement at my local MB dealer.
Local dealer 'get' their cars from their central buying team at their head office

So my invoice shows their head office rather than the address of my local dealer though I was physically in my local dealer.

Private purchase on PCP

:D Picked mine up today. Here are two quick photos... I'll upload more later once my phone syncs everything to the web!

C350e - Album on Imgur

First impressions...

It's nice and quiet, rolling along in electric mode will entertain me for a while to come!

It's a little clunky sometimes when moving from engine mode to electric if you're also slowing down quite rapidly .

The brakes feel reasonably smooth, but you can definitely notice the difference between regenerative braking and normal discs.

I plugged the car in for 90 mins and it reached about 85% capacity, this displayed as 15 miles of range but lasted about 8-9 I'd say.

On my just under 100 mile drive on mixed roads, M25, M4 and A-roads starting with no charge I averaged 40mpg. Even when the electric range shows as empty, the battery is still at about 18 - 20% capacity.

And I can't really tell the difference between the air suspension in the C350e and the normal springs in the E-Class hire car I had.

I'll add more once I've driven it some more this evening. I've already had 2 people approach me to ask about it while it was charging up, so lots of keen people out there!

Added some extra photos here: My C350e - Album on Imgur Let me know if there's anything else you want to see!

I did a shorter run tonight into Windsor, starting with about 15% battery (i.e 0 mile range) and covering 15 miles all in all, the MPG figure came back as 50.4mpg. Not too bad :)

Also I remember someone asking about the lighting around the door handles. Good news, this option is still there - I had to enable it in the settings, but I have lighting under the wing mirrors and exterior door handles.

MaidenheadMerc. I take it you can't display the outside temperature either ? The manual clearly shows it in the 'total mileage trip' but on my car it keeps displaying the kph not outside temp.

This temp issue is confusing because it is there in the list of items, detailed in the manual that 350e shared so what is going on?

Great pictures thanks v much. Good news about lighting. Surprised that the front discs are drilled. I thought we had killed that one off as not being on UK cars but clearly not the case. Liked the shot with car below turbine.

Will be in Maidenhead/Cookham for Christmas hopefully in my 350e, so will have to lookout for a brilliant blue 350e to give a flash of lights to;)
