C350e anyone considering one?

Hybrid - were you in a Plug In or 300h. Do you know which screen it was in - I can't find it on any of the trip displays and someone spent ages with a salesman trying to show it. Any help really appreciated.

Yes neither it was a bog standard diesel with very little,on it an worse still it was a manual.

It was on the Command screen above the air vents.

If you haven't already downloaded the Mercedes App I recommend that you do ASAP.
You will find most questions posed in these forums are answered. Most with a video.
This is an example :

It sounds like the temperature question is answered in the full manual. It seems you can usually change the setting, but not in the UK.

Here are two photos of the section I mean.

I know a few of you have been concerned about lease companies disabling the Connect Me service.
I spoke with mine yesterday (Leaseplan) to get an update on my order (delivery to me between Christmas & New Year!) and they have advised that they will arrange for Mercedes to enable this service on my car. They said it was disabled by default because the order was through a lease company but it's their discretion (if the employee raises the issue) if they enable it.
Don't know if it's worth others who have ordered through a lease company getting in touch with them to ask this.

My lease company said it would not be possible due to their policy. Can imagine smaller ones been flexible though

Don't think the size of he lease company would have any bearing, Leaseplan are one of the largest. Maybe it's their willingness to make their customers happy.

Its the overhead of doing such additional tasks out of their standard remit. Big company, harder to make progress.

Also, its upto the employer too.

Yes, can you imagine the bureaucracy involved in achieving a successful outcome in some large companies with a transport deparment. First a request is made, best in writing, to the office responsible in the company for procurement of vehicles. With luck the recepient adds the request to a "to do list". Eventually the request rises to the top and maybe at that point a request is made, preferably in writing to the appropriate contact in the lease company. On to another to do list. Firstly though if a policy isn't in place the task is to request the appropriate department for clarity. And so it goes on, you get the picture :)

The issue I had was the "internal" policy was clear. "No remote services enabled on any cars" The core reason as prevoiusly discussed was due to maintainace and breakdown was provided by a 3rd party rather than drive with the car manafacture, plus the data protection element.

Belive me... i tried every route possible to overturn or create an exception in the policy even speaking to resources at the correct level, but the answer was no. The employer and lease company had agreed to them terms and could not be over turned.

Also, on a 4 yr lease the mercedes me only lasts for 3 years and the VIN is registered to the lease company not the "driver" which is required to be for the Mercedes Me unless approval is sought from the lease.

Fact is.. too many cars, too many members of staff, too many processes and no one who can make a decision to overturn as its the gods who makes the choices.

Rubbish eh!!

Anyway... my order is cancelled now - time to look for something else!!

Hey everyone. Any feedback on the estate model yet? I have one on order, due in January. Does anyone know when apple car play will be enabled?

So the feedback I received was as previously posted......

"NHS fleet solutions also spoke to the lease company about Connect Me who have advised they believe it is a subscription process for these features. This cost is not incorporated into the lease price, so if I wanted it I would need to arrange this with a Mercedes-Benz dealer and paid for by me"

I will be looking to pay for mine to be enabled after speaking with the lease company who should be in agreement based on the feedback above. Unless I can argue first that I should not have to pay extra of course.

Is anybody getting any sense out of dealers as I for one am not, 4 months down the line and I can't even be told an expected delivery date.

i was 6 months in and I had a delivery date, but may as well of not had one as it slipped by a month every month which went on.

:D Picked mine up today. Here are two quick photos... I'll upload more later once my phone syncs everything to the web!

C350e - Album on Imgur

First impressions...

It's nice and quiet, rolling along in electric mode will entertain me for a while to come!

It's a little clunky sometimes when moving from engine mode to electric if you're also slowing down quite rapidly .

The brakes feel reasonably smooth, but you can definitely notice the difference between regenerative braking and normal discs.

I plugged the car in for 90 mins and it reached about 85% capacity, this displayed as 15 miles of range but lasted about 8-9 I'd say.

On my just under 100 mile drive on mixed roads, M25, M4 and A-roads starting with no charge I averaged 40mpg. Even when the electric range shows as empty, the battery is still at about 18 - 20% capacity.

And I can't really tell the difference between the air suspension in the C350e and the normal springs in the E-Class hire car I had.

I'll add more once I've driven it some more this evening. I've already had 2 people approach me to ask about it while it was charging up, so lots of keen people out there!

More pics please. Looks awesome by the way

Ok how on earth do you apply this then as it sounds like a great idea?

I've completed a few more drives now so thought I'd add another update.

Starting with an 11% charge (i.e 0 miles available) I drove for 97 miles, with about 85% of that being on the Motorway in the late evening so no traffic hold ups. (The electric distance was 16 miles) I averaged 58mph overall and 37.6mpg.

I did a shorter drive the following day which was 30 miles from Shepherds Bush in stop start traffic, then the M4, and starting with a full charge. I averaged 24mph and I managed 15 miles on electric, leaving me with 68.9mpg

Still really liking the car...but wishing I'd gone for the longer charging cables. These 4 metre ones are in reality around 1.5 metres without stretching them out loads. Because they're thick cables I wouldn't want to stretch them a lot as this seems like it would cause a lot of tension on either end. The 8 metre ones are probably more of a faff to store though.

Tomorrow never comes they say !

If it does then we will pick this beauty up :)

Screen capture of a video the dealer kindly sent to me today :)
