C350e anyone considering one?

Hi MM,

Just how does the charge lead locks into the car, and is it a physically secure connection ? Also what duration did you leave it and charge percentage before and after......

Thanks

B&O (due mid Nov):thumb:

When you plug the connector into the car and it begins to charge you hear it lock in place, obviously with a 3 pin connector someone could switch it off or unplug the other end, but fingers crossed they don't!

I plugged in at around 18% (as the battery doesn't really drop below that in normal driving without the engine charging it a bit) and came back a few hours later with it fully charged. You can check on the progress though with the Mercedes Me app.

I'm using a 3 pin connection at work and it takes around 3 hours to go from 20% to 100%.

If you would like to see the burr walnut finish, look here.

For those that would like to see the burr walnut wood finish on a 350e see below.
We love it with the light leather coupled with the illumination provided by the panoramic roof.

Hi all

First change from a string of BMWs for me.

I've just ordered a Prem+ in diamond silver and added...

Crystal grey leather
18" alloys
Surround camera
Adaptive LEDs
Privacy glass

Left the gloss trim on in the end as on the MB configuration I preferred the look

Advised a lead time of......32 WEEKS!!!!

Uncertain whether to just wait or get something else. If they r spins to the demand I'd kick myself if that would have come down as I guess I'd wait 16 weeks for anything

Welcome to club :)
Yes you will need to endure the wait, see previous 90 odd pages ! , but it will be wothwhile, particularly if you have the BIK charge in mind. Got mine yesterday after a 6 month wait but back in April the 350e was just a car on paper. Now it is as hot as the Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV :)

Thanks for the swift reply. I tell myself time always flies by!

What are your thoughts on it? What's the rolling acceleration like, thinking kind of motorway overtaking etc which matters much more than the 0-60 stuff

Rob

The word "insane" has been used by another poster in relation to the available torque in the mid range.
I have only had mine for a day and can only say that after my Jaguar XF it is light years ahead in so many ways. A real joy :)

350e you should be sponsored by MB, the more you describe it the more it what mine now!!

Glad you are enjoying it and it's exceeding expectations.

I would call the Mitsubishi outlander a lot of things but hot is not one of them lol ...is your interior beige ?as I have crystal grey and could only have the other wood trim as a option

Welcome Rob, I know it seems like a long time but as they say time flies!

A few of us have looked around due to the wait times but if you it's not going to be easy to find an alternative that can achieve 0-60 in 5.9 seconds with only 5% BiK.

So my advice would be to hang in there, presume at some stage MB might get their act together and start ramping up production.

OMG yes :)

In comparison to my Jaguar XF the 350e is light years ahead.

Have to say there was a brief moment on the way home when I decided one quick blast could do no harm. OMG it is quick :D

Trust you agree that the XF is Fred Flintstone compared to the 350e !

350e - really glad you are so pleased with it - I am sure you now appreciate what I said about 45mpg being reasonable for its performance. I urge you to remember that in reverse the motor provides equal immediate torque as accelerating forward !!!!

Hi
Yes when I picked it it's either grey leather with all trims or biege but only with walnut or gloss. Went for crystal grey which looks off White to me. I have a two year old so light carpets were out of the question !

Has anyone got an image of the grey interior? It's the real leather I've picked

Rob

Distronic Plus

Apologies to those that haven't specified Distronic Plus - but I am just amazed at what this does and on my crawl around the M25 I now wouldn't be without it. The only downside I have found is that sometimes my nerve gives and I 'intervene' - has anyone else noticed that if you 'intervene' the braking is not so effective as when you leave it to the system ? Do you find that following drivers tend to leave more distance as the car brakes later and more firmly than you would normally - and yes, I have adjusted the 'effective distance'.

There is a pic of a brilliant blue c350e with crystal grey leather on this thread , which is one of the reasons I picked the same as it looks the best combo IMO ,and I like the fact that with the gray you don't get gray carpets

Thanks mate you don't happen to know if it's early or late do you? There's nearly a hundred pages now

Cheers

Yes my interior is the beige leather and I know it is old fashioned today, a world of black everything, I love the classic dark on light finish of my car.

As for the Mitsubishi Outlander, without wanting to drag us all off topic after nearly 100 page of 350e comment I can only say that MB would be pleased if they can top Mitsubishi''s success with the outlander. Driver, I think it was, told us the other day that the Outlander was removed from a company's approved list because of BIK abuse, I suppose it could be said.
In the words of Mitsubishi, from a recent press release :

The award-winning Outlander PHEV is transforming the plug-in sector. Launched in April 2014, it has now overtaken every other plug-in hybrid and pure electric car, even passing vehicles that have been on sale since 2011, such as the Nissan Leaf, to become the UK’s favourite plug-in vehicle.

Just had the Rolec 16a charging pod installed.
Great value at £185 installed.
After much research this seemed to be the tidiest and most compact option out there.
