Is it not the case that as long as genuine Mercedes parts are used, then the warranty remains.

So if you have your work done with the official parts, you'll have no issues. The same as servicing?

I'm certain my car isn't full MB SH but the warranty remained live (until August that was) and it's with Mercedes atm under the hybrid warranty.

Another topic, I've got an e220 diesel atm which is amazing inside, virtual dashboard and mood lighting all around the car is a lovely touch. Prefer the drive of the c350e though I've got to be honest, I feel like the car in hybrid/comfort is such a nice drive. I sometimes have issues when I change modes to eco or sport because all the braking and stuff is different.

Theoretically, yes; if you use genuine parts, and the garage is VAT Registered it won't affect the warranty. But if Mercedes really wanted to be pedantic (which they almost certainly would if it prevented a warranty claim) they can demand proof that ALL the items on the official schedule were checked.........

Ahh okay. I'm guessing you'd be relatively safe using a Mercedes specialist because I bet they'd be able to evidence that quite easily.

Well my time is up with my C350e, nearly 4 years as a company car has been cheap as chips to run..... Not sure it makes sense for you private owners, not looking just at the finances anyhow. Still there's lots of reasons to love the car, refinement when regularly charging, comfort, performance if not the ultimate point to point country road beast, etc, etc. Loved the Burmeister stereo too. Hated the Connect sat nav though, still that applies to BMW and Audi/ VW who use the same crappy system that they brought from Nokia Here maps.
I digress however, anyone know what you should do re: the Mercedes Me service/ your vehicle when a vehicle is sold. There is the function to remove vehicle in Mercedes Me but it says quote: Please note the information on the sale of a vehicle with Mercedes Me connect functionality in the FAQs. Can I find the relevant FAQs in the Mercedes Me Portal?, not a chance! Can anyone help/ point me in the right direction?
It's been fun :)

I contacted clicksmechanics and they told me the job is too much for them. They only do services and brake and disc replacements.

The mechanic I know in seven kings also declined the job.

Gem-tech quoted £400
Merc-care £480
B-Merc £550
Mercedes specialist in Brentwood £650
Mercedes £839

Has anyone used these people?

Very disappointed with what’s happening.

I made a complaint against Mercedes Loughton because they ignored the thermostat issue in August, when I clearly told them about that. They are now saying I didn’t mention anything. Proper scum.

I’m looking at VW Passat and the interior looks basic and most don’t have sunroof.

Sraj, no problem. So with clickmechanic.com it should only come to around £330, sounds better than £800.
I know when you have continuing problems with a vehicle you don’t have the same looks on it so at the end of the day you have to decide. Whatever you decide best of luck.

Hi.. Once you remove it from the mercedes me portal that should be good enough. Also make sure you remove your saved details from the satnav i. E. Home/work locations.. When i purchased mine the previous owner had not removed it from the mercedes me account so had to get a dealership to do it and show them prove of ownership..[emoji849]

So unfortunately working on Christmas day and forgot to get petrol last night[emoji30], nearest ststion from home is 40km so really appreciated having the electric today[emoji120][emoji120], got there with a few miles to spare as the petrol tank was on 4% at the end.. Lesson learned for sure.. [emoji16]

After 5 years of providing an app for access to car features, you’d have thought Mercedes Benz would have figured out how to make it work without annoying more people than they serve.

Update on this....... It seems idiotically, that the State Of Charge part of the App requires BOTH the Set-Up and Remote And Navigation parts to be active. I've worked this out for myself because the only time the State of Charge part worked was in the short period of time when both were active on my account (before Mercedes cancelled the one they'd told me I didn't need). I've wasted far too much time on this, so I think I'll just do without it now and keep just the Setup part - which does give quite a few other useful features. I really can't justify spending the extra £39 just to have that one facility. Well done Mercedes; you've lost another customer - I won't be buying another Mercedes. It's no longer acceptable to make a superb car, but then not have the infrastructure to properly support it.

I'm still waiting to hear back from the Mercedes Me support folk on this....but they didn't seem to think I needed both 'packs, and nor do I based on what I read online when looking at what each gets you.

charge settings.PNG

The bit that does it for me, "Whether during charging or before starting journey - convenient remote control of your Mecedes-Benz vehicle's charging settings....." You can only control the charge settings if you can access the HV battery SOC menu, and at present, with just the one pack, I cannot (and neither can John).

So, ****-up or conspiracy..... At the moment, I lean towards ****-up, as there are so few hybrids. Someone bundled SOC for HV battery access along with all the other stuff when they shouldn't have.

I'm thinking ****up too. I had read that extract, and like you thought that proved the case; but thinking further about it, realised that it's referring to the pre-climate where you tell the car your departure time and it will ensure it's charged and heated by that time? Let me know if you get anywhere with Mercedes me. If I get time next week I may push them further on this if only to point out the absurdity in the way they've seemingly compiled the packs without using joined up thinking. Lol - you never know; they may throw in the second pack for free if they accept their ****up .

It’s worth the argue I think. It clearly says “charging settings”, and that only makes sense when talking about battery charge scheduling.

Sraj that is disappointing, can’t see that the job is any different to changing a thermostat on the standard C200, unless I’m missing something. It’s got to be a personal decision whether to go for the cheapest quote.
Depends whether you think your 350e is worth it.

The C350e has the same M274 engine as a fair few other cars in the range. Tune is different as are some of the accessories (no alternator, HV electric driven AC compressor and waterpump) plus a whole bunch of extras for the whole hybrid thing...but I suspect the stat is the same or similar.

Thanks for the info Chris, but find it strange why some garages shy away from changing a thermostat.

Maybe they are scared off by the whole hybrid thing? I get there will be some differences and extra procedures once you start messing with the HV, but it’s still a Merc with a common engine isn’t it.

Disappointing isn’t it :(

Wiper blades
The wiper blades on my 2017 C350e are smearing so it's time to change them. The blades recommended on the Halfords site (and elsewhere) are Bosch A844S, but there are a few reviews saying that they don't fit. What have people here fitted successfully?

A lot of people are scared because it’s a hybrid and they don’t know much about them.

I was looking at webuyanycar and autotrader for a free valuation on my car and I’m getting £15325.

I paid 19000 in August 2019 and the mileage was 61777.

Now the mileage is 64521

Feel demoralised to be losing £4000 in 4 months if I decide to sell.

My car came with Black wood ash, 360 camera and drivers assistance package. The leather is light Chrystal grey.

Very disappointed

Only used the granny charger briefly before the Rolec got installed, and never at full power, but drawing the full 13A from a 3 pin socket for any length of time is always likely to be problematic unless the socket is top quality and in good order.

It isn’t likely to be the wiring at fault for the heat generation, assuming(!) the correct cable was used. Is it a spur or a ring by the way?

MK double sockets are good for an indefinite sustained 19A apparently, so maybe make sure you use MK brand?

The cabling is 2.5mm and it is connected to the ring main.

Thanks for the recommendation of the MK. Will look at.

It’s usually contact resistance to blame for the heating up. The other half of the equation being the plug of course. You have the right cable, so all you can do is make sure the socket is good quality and the connections are properly tight.

Hi, i changed mine just after i got my second hand 350e, went for oem ones from dealer as two different ones were specked when i checked, cost was about 70euros which was double the price and it took them about 2 months to stop squeaking but all good now and they have a good wear indicator on them to let you know when they need changing (hopefully not for a few years[emoji12])... My second choice was the bosch ones but cant recall the model im affraid..
