C63 507 Model Register

Hi all must say this thread is fantastic and Phil Linda your know your stuff. Huge AMG fan and I just purchased the red 507 that page 99 refers to. It was an impulse purchase annoyed the wife but hey must say it’s mint paint work wise as said wheels could do with a refurb and I want to keep the silver lip the alcantara steering wheel could do with some love any advice thanks

I remember seeing your car last year when the previous dealer sold it. Must have had the front bumper painted since as it was peppered before! Glad they’ve done a nice job.

Seems a bargain!

That looks good what sort of price we looking at

That was £205 fitted, you place your custom order and they will apply it to a steering wheel. Then (if you chose fitting) pop over to the workshop and they swap the wheel over, install your paddles and controls etc onto the custom wheel in 10 mins

I personally chose original thickness, alacantara to the sides, leather upper and lower with a white bar at the top, all with white stitching to match the gear gaiter

Re the wheels anyone know someone who can refurb back to original I hear they may be a company in Germany??

if you have had a 507 less than a week and have found a company that can do an OEM refurb on the black alloys you’ve done well. I’ve had mine over 12 months and haven’t had any success , please share :thumb:

you could try cleaning (steering) with baby wipes. You’ll be surprised on the transformation. Give it a try before you spend ££

Baby wipes are good for cleaning off dirt and grease but do leave a residue behind. I've used a mild soap solution and a microfibre cloth with great success, followed by a suede brush once dry.

Hi Guys,

Found this forum as I have been looking at 507 Coupe’s for a couple of months but have missed a couple.

Have tried to call Lookers about BT14 UEM but nobody there seems to be able to help but reading above seems its sold?

Dan, was this the red car in Portsmouth? I viewed it just after Christmas and wanted to buy but they would not help with a deal on my RS4. It’s interesting you say you saw it last year as they said they had it for sale for a while as they took it in part exchange directly from the second owner who had owned it for 3 years.

what’s the low down on the Engine builders were they a unique few who built the 507 or was it just pot luck at the factory

Carbon rear diffuser what are the 507 owners thoughts is this a step two to far etc?

Depends which camp you’re in. If your car is 100% original I’d keep it that way, as the years pass finding an “unmolested” 507 becomes harder. If not go for it, end of the day it’s what you’re happy with which counts.
