Evening chaps- so looks like I’ve got it wrong on 507 current prices - the red 507 coupe sold to a trader 48k - trader going to hold on for resale as believes £55k very achievable soon - I’m more than happy to be proved wrong

I've driven both and I think I prefer the AMG GTR for tech and maybe the 911 GT3 for the driving. I am leaning towards the GT3.

I've been looking as 991.1 GT3's as they are acceptable in price now. However, a friend with a 996 GT3 K400 Manthey conversion put me off by providing me with links to the issues with the engine in the 991.1 cars that forced Porsche to replace a significant number and then offer a 10 year warranty on the new units to keep sales up. It is those cars that are now approaching that 10 year age point so it will be interesting to see how they hold up price wise and what a Porsche warranty will cost when the used car one expires.

I think the porsche warranty is probably around the price of the AMG one's

I want the 991 GT3. I didn't even consider the 996. I will take a look!

The 996 is apparently more of a 'raw' car from what I've heard. In fact the 996 GT3 RS is one of my all time dream cars, but wayyy out of my price range lol! Have you considered the 997 GT3?

Apologies I've been busy showing potential buyers around the house as it appears the property market is still loopy

I have looked at 997's but I prefer the look of the 996 cars . I am going to be allowed a drive in the 996 GT3 Manthey car once the owner has completed a little bit of mechanical work so will know more then. The last 911 I drove was a 996 C4S and it was bloody woeful with no real performance or handling but a GT3 911 is a different beast altogether so am quite enthralled by the opportunity.

It’s crazy at the moment isn’t it?! I was told that it was the wrong time to buy (prior to the pandemic) but it seems to be heading one way lol!

The 996 is definitely more raw from what I’ve heard, hope you enjoy the experience lad
