C63 507 Model Register

90k miles and it doesn't have the oem forged wheels either. Looks very expensive to me!

It's around 1300 below market price. You can get a 25k CAT N car with 90k.

Depends what you see as selling, only car that's sold now recently is the one just bought from the new member on here - believe he got that for 27500. Had 60 something on the clock and two years warranty, also had the wheels.

End of the day, these cars are worth what someone will pay. I find the condition and mileage plays a massive factor into the value of these cars (and any car tbh!) and looking at the current cars on the market (bar Andys) I wouldn't be interested in any regardless of price - stick them up for sub 20k if you want I wouldn't part with my hard earned for something I wouldn't be 100% happy with.

There is also a difference in buying private and trade due to finance arrangement so I hope you considered that.

Also, noticed that a car which was sold privately for £32k then flipped by the trader for the late '30s to 40k plus? There is the factor of part-ex etc.

The same is true of PPP cars. I saw one sell for 19k with 30k miles with LSD then you have PPP cars decent spec in the late '20s. It all depends on the condition etc and who is actually selling them.

This the estate? Yes but people can arrange finance now through companies even privately. Don't often get a good deal though! But totally agree, I think when I bought mine the seller got very lucky because I was a cash buyer.

Its an odd car really, appeals to a select few (fun fools ;D) but now its getting to the point I think that condition/warranty is very important upon purchase. Theyre not cheap to put right correctly if they've been abused. Look at the trouble Lee is having with the Mercedes Brooklands car and the current warranty bill.

Agreed.

The trouble is, once the car hits 100k miles, the UK car buying public generally think the car is knackered. Rightly or wrongly. C63s especially seem to be mileage sensitive. Just my opinion, but you'd be crazy to spend that much on a 90k miler unless you plan on keeping it for a very long time. Not even worth low 20s with that mileage. Just my view, no offence intended to anyone.

Generally, I'd use this rule on any car but I think there is a lot of speculation currently happening on limited runs or NA models.

However, if you look across to Germany or the even USA the residuals are extortionate for 507's with high miles. I guess this is back to the market is willing to pay.

I find the C63 market quite interesting, plenty of cars out there and once they are out of the 3 year manufacturers warranty I would doubt that very few get the full on TLC they require as it’s expensive and many folk don’t factor in the ongoing costs and try to cut corners. There are plenty of cheap cars out there but how many have had paint? , service history not up to date?, been “improved” (sorry remapped) ? had half , if not all of the exhaust removed ? As the years go by with any limited numbers car finding an “unmolested and original” example gets much harder. The trick is knowing a good one when you see it. ;)

PS non standard finish on the alloys and E Bay “knock off” Affalterbach Centre caps does equate to “unmolested” in my book, it equates to “cheap fix” to make it look “tidy”. :D

It’s an interesting point about “the wheels” , the forged Edition 507 19 inch wheels are part of the appeal of the 507 , as are the genuine side decals, I wouldn’t want one without them, other folk will feel differently. :dk:

Originality sells on limited edition cars and as we have seen on many threads here getting genuine 507 parts is not generally easy and always expensive. My car is as it left the factory with the addition of a Quaife ATB diff and Michelin Pilot Sport 4s tyres and will stay that way, no need to remap at all with this engine :thumb:

However..
buying a 24 month warranty on its own from Mercedes you’d be looking about 5-6k?

Plus Gap insurance, Free Couple of of service deals.
I know, When I got my 911 from the dealers they accommodated as a part of the deal. Maybe varies from dealer to dealer..

Hi Yex, Looking at previous posts, Did you get your Bonnet painted? How was the match?

Hello Tom, bonnet successfully painted and with a perfect match for £400 all in at a local firm to me in Essex :thumb:

There are some low mileage well looked after cars out there and still as standard I don’t use mine much but still get it serviced at MB every year
anything that needs done gets done as I’m sure most of you guys do it’s the only way as far as I’m concerned

Guys & Gals, for anyone interested

There’s an AMG meet on Sunday February the 2nd happening at Caffeine & Machine, I know of one convoy meeting at 11am at Leicester Forest East, I’ll be approaching from the south but will probably meet them after the M69 somewhere in Coventry

I’ll be meeting them after LFE as I’m in the opposite direction

Will have to discuss with the others but I think people from the south could meet with the convoy at the Ricoh, either stadium or retail park in Coventry

OK I'll meet whoever is at LFE.
