C63 vs rs7

I think you are slightly underestimating the quality of the end product here, that Supra was built for the track and was able to humble even the most exotic cars with ease.

Not calling custard or anything here, just genuinely interested, do you have any videos of this thing in action? It sounds like a monster I'd like to see.

Having followed this thread with interest and generally siding with Lee, my next car will hopefully be an E63 4Matic. :D
Thank you Peter. We'll join you if it comes in RHD which is the problem. Now, from CAR magazine.

"Together with the four-wheel drive system, the E63 S 4MATIC will smash through the 0-62mph sprint in just 3.6 seconds. Suddenly the new RS6 Avant’s 3.9sec time looks a little tardy."

I actually read somewhere that they got the E63s 4 matic to virtually 3 seconds.

Let's not forget the top trump any RWD has over AWD and FWD is getting tail happy, and oh, the world record is in the hands of an AMG (1.5 miles)

Try that in your Audi. :D If AWD is "where it's going", then I'm going to miss this.

I have several videos on my Facebook, what's your name and I'll add you?

I will honestly miss it too... But this was not my point all along...

Yeah tried that forum, wasn't keen on all the Daily Mail linked stories.

Yeah, I'm guessing there's less exposure in the MBDP

The McLaren P1 and la ferrari didn't feel the need for 4wd and there packing a bit of a punch.:wallbash:

That world record drift is fantastic. Bet the driver has the worlds biggest grin on his face!

The added weight of an AWD system would outweigh the traction benefits. If there are no benefits, what is the point? :wallbash:

Yah, that's always the problem with right hand drive AMG/M cars, usually just not the demand to engineer a AWD version. The moment they do though, I'm on it.

Seems you've just countered your own argument here. Remind me which side you're on? :p

What do you mean by side, there cannot be a 100% split between all RWD cars being bad and all AWD cars being good.

But when you look at cars which ultimately focus on weight reduction, going down to every small detail from body panel to seat material to reduce weight, it makes the whole exercise pointless by adding a heavy AWD drive, don't you agree?

On a 2 tonne RS6 or E63, where there is no heavy focus on weight reduction, it makes all sense to focus on the traction, to put most of the power to use to shift this weight.

What are your thoughts on this?

That's because AMG and M drivers know how to handle a car.

Quattro is a bit like 'My First Chemistry Set'; it's all right for starters but you know you'll be moving on to bigger things like Bunsen burners etc once you suss the job out.

The Mercedes-Benz Dependence Party

That was no good either, the members think Mercedes ceased to exist once the W124 was taken off the production line.

W202 was a bit of a grey area though, think they give you a day pass with one of them, you're not allowed full membership.

With this mentality, everyone here is an amateur because they rely on modern day technology of automatic gearboxes, traction control, abs, power steering, sensors etc.

Nothing beats a good old manual... ;)

Not sure if you're aware but AWD isn't modern technology.

Unless you count the 1960's as modern.
