Cannot set the time - W211

Comand 2.0 (CD based) seemed to do auto-time changes - I guess the info was on the map disk.

The newer COMAND types NTG1 and NTG2 (i.e all DVD comand except the W204,W216,W211 and MY09 cars) need to be told the timezone difference.

I dont know about the W204 onward !

Do you then have an Audio 50 APS head unit or a basic radio?

Mine is an Audio 20.

It completely caught me by surprise the first time the clocks changed after I bought it.

I just assumed that it does it by date off the internal clock. But in principle it could do it via RDS.

mine has Audio-20 and it did it automatically.

This is interesting, I drove my wife's car today and noticed it was showing the correct time. I just double-checked that she had not set it manually (a useless question, I know she would never bother to enter the settings menu to set the time  ). It is a W204 with an audio 20 radio.

I had a look at the on-line manual and it claims that Audio 50 APS and Comand APS set the time automatically while with Audio 20 one has to set it from the cluster. Looks like MB does not know what their cars do.

It must come from RDS in our W204 (like many other car brands do). The car however still has the cluster menu for time settings. I did not try to play with it to test if I can set it to some incorrect time (like some owners want to have the clock set 10 minutes in advance, otherwise they will always be late :) ).

the strange thing is, I'm sure last time it changed it didn't do it automatically.
