Cheers buddy! Are you in cov? Could meet up sometime if you wish

No worries, pm when your ready

Want to upgrade the lights to a hid kit, which kit is recommended
And consider upgrading the audio unit to one of those recommended chinese versions assuming its all plug and play

Tbh I wouldn't recommend a hid kit in a reflector headlamp.
Lots of reasons, mainly that the light output is all over the shop so although it may look brighter, you don't actually see further. Also you run a good risk of dazzling other road users.
Set of nightbreakers and well adjusted headlights would be my recommendation.
Just put a pair in the Jeep and they're a good upgrade.

Hi ash, glad to hear you bought the clk, you certainly did your homework. Happy motoring.

Cheers Peter, this forum has helped me a great deal!

There were some negatives with the car, i'm really fussy when it comes to cars

37k service stamp/invoice missing
No evidence or proof that the auto trans oil has been replaced
service A due in 3500 miles
1 rear tyre needs to be replaced soon
Only 1 key with the car
No parking sensors
Rust on the rear wheel arches, appears to be surface rust

Is there any guide on how this could be diy rectified, would MB honour this under their body and paint warranty?

Congrats on the purchase, now post some pictures!!:bannana:

No harm in asking Mercedes about the rust and see if its covered, you have nothing to lose :thumb:

my only suggestion would be to buy your tyers on line, lately I've used Love Tyers.com I find their prices are hard to beat, get them fitted locally for £10 a wheel, and buy a pair for the rear, not just the one you think needs replacing, sell the "good one"on e/bay. I recently sold a part worn rear for mine and got £85 for it.

Apparently the other rear tyre was replaced recently with a brand new continental tyre

if it is a newly replaced tyre would you still recommend I replace it with an identical rear pair

It's better to match tires on the same axle to avoid any strange handling, braking or wear problems.

I know on some 4x4 cars you have to replace all 4 tires at the same time to avoid ESP and ABS issues.

Congratulations on the purchase! Glad the car was right for you!

Look forward to the progress threads, in regards to HID's, I've had them in my reflector headlamps with no problems at all, never been flashed by anyone to say that I'm dazzling them or had wonky light patterns, just pick a decent 35W kit. I'm more often dazzled by 100w/wonky patterns of halogen headlights which are in a right worst state than HID.

Also very interested in the Chinese comand lookalike install, would advise to go for the Android operating system unit.

Lastly, enjoy the new addition, it is already great without any modifications :) Look forward to see some photos (not from the advert) :D:D:D
