CLK Front Discs - Pad & fitting Costs

Hi there, I've been quoted £290 to replace the front discs and pad on my CLK 350 Sport W209) with Jurid discs and pads by a local indie.

I've noticed I can get the discs for about £70 each and pads would bring this to less than £200. Do you feel say £90 is reasonable for labour..seems a lot of say 30min a wheel...£90/hr?

many thanks,

Not an unfair price I can get discs/pads for my C class for £130 but MB want £395 fitted! I will either do it myself or get my local garage to fit my supplied parts.

If you dont fancy paying £90 labourfit them youself, you can then clean the wheels while their off and paint the calipers etc!!!!

Fair comment....was just checking....used to do all my own work when I had m/bikes but always a little happier with a car the kids sometimes go in to get the pros involved.

yea the parts should be cheaper than 200. Try ATE/Textar from ECP..you can message ECP (member here) so they can give you parts at discounted rate of full 25% off.

Guys, does anyone know who is the manufacturer of original Mercedes discs and pads?

It was ATE before for all brake components but could be wrong.

My indie just fitted a new set of Pagid discs and pads to my W203 sport pack (cross drilled brakes with aluminium calipers). If you price them up on carparts4less the discs are £42 each plus £40 for pads. You get £15 discount for orders over £100. Very impressed with the quality and they are just as good as the MB ones I went for last time.

These can be a pig to fit as the pins holding the pads corrode with the aluminium and can be extremely difficult to remove. Previous pad / disc changes have always been challenging but this time the pins had to be cut off and new ones fitted. This is not really a job you want to be doing at home!
