The passenger side front seat in my CLK stopped working today - Pushed the switch back and the seat moved forward - pushed the switch forward and nothing happened, it seems to raise and lower ok....

Its now stuck all the way forward!!

I have read threads about the motor but it cant be the motor as its still working....could it be a dodgy relay?

Under the seat there are a few different plugs, does anyone know what plug is the seat movement?
I dont want to go unpluging anything that will cause further issues...

Im hoping by unpluging it it may reset and sort its self out...

Has anyone else had this issue?

Thanks

Fuse's are fine (still travels up and down / it just wont go back)
Nothing in the runner...

In fact - when it was not stuck all the way forward (as it is now) even the back button moved it forward....somthing strange going on???

cheers chaps...going to check all fuses tonight!

Are you absolutely sure that you have the 'playing ball' pack on your seats? It was a very rare and expensive option iirc.

Anyway - seriously - this sounds like a problem with the switch or a relay, not fuses. The motor turns on one direction to move forward, and then in the opposite direction to move backwards. Usually this is done by reversing the polarity of the electrical supply to the motor. If you are going forwards when pressing the backwards button, then something is not reversing the polarity as it should.

Just my 2 cents...

Checked all fuses and all seems ok....
Where do I find the reply switch?

Does any one have some sort of guide to getting this replaced?

Cheers

Can any one tell me where the relay switch is for the front / back movment on the passenger seat of a CLK?

motor may need replacing .. my old 208 had the same problem.

cant see it being the motor as it still travels in 1 direction...

It seems to have fixed its self!!
Very strange....maybe a bit od water managed to get in to the door when washing??
