Hi All,

Its a 3.2 about 100K - basically need to change the coolent had a look and I don't think it should be the colour of ditch water, there's no bits or oil in the sample I pulled out of the expension tank,

I've read the threads and just want to confirm the following is a good idea and I've understood,

The plan is to pull the bottom hose to drain the coolant, refill it with distilled water only, run to temp (after its cooled down) drain that, then fill with distilled water/coolant mix,

Couple of q's

1) Do I have to go to Merc for coolant or is Europarts OK
2) Does it self bleed (my research points to yes)

Any other thoughts,

Cheers
Andy

Yes your correct with all you are doing. Don't have to be merc coolant just the correct spec! iirc I put comma x48 in my 230 which id imagine is the same for your. Green in colour. If you put comma coolant into the net, Iam sure there's a tool to put your reg in and it will tell you which coolant for your motor iirc.

I always use the MB coolant. It is expensive but very good quality.

When you re-fill it just make sure the heater is on full and it will self bleed. Top up as necessary.

The coolant in your car is due every 4 years.

That's great thank you both,

Mercedes don't manufacture coolant they buy off the big guys, and the add a massive markup on the coolant, so I would go to an Asda superstore and get the same stuff for a fraction of the price.
