Hi all,

I am getting my Dad's CLK in September for definite now. I am a huge music lover, so looking into audio upgrades ahead of time.

When I've had a play with the CLK's current stereo (audio 10 cassette with cd changer), i've liked the sound but it doesn't go nearly loud enough, especially on old recordings (like Hendrix concert recordings!)

I looked high and low on google for the audio 10's power and it seems to be fairly low (like 30watts per channel at best).

My question: how good are the stock speakers? Could they handle an aftermarket head unit with 52watts per channel? If not, does the presence of door airbags complicate things?

Thanks!

The stock speakers are not that bad. A good alpine head unit will surffice to start with.

i had the bose upgrade pack in my clk cab, but i have now replaced it all with after market HU, amps, speakers the lot!! and it sounds 10x better!
