Hi
I am fresh member of this forum and found quite some useful info so far.
I have been having problem with my 08 CLK remote boot release. The release phase does happen as I can hear the click however the boot does not open unless helped manually. Anyone familiar with this problem or how to fix it?

Convertible or coupe?
The convertible just releases, it doesn't open the boot.
If it's the coupe I would suspect the gas struts.

There's big springs to lift the lid so many its come off one side or broken.

Mine works fines even with the additional AMG lip spoiler.

Hi Guys,

The boot did not open when released by key or inside. I have now managed to find a quick fix for it (for now at least).
At the sides of the boot lock, there are two screw-able rubber contact points . I unscrewed these by about 5 mm both sides and now the boot lid opens from inside and from key as I think the additional rubber pushes the boot upwards.
Downside is that it takes slightly more strength to close the boot but you would not be able to tell the difference if not directly comparing them.
If I do have further problems, I will try the more labor intensive option of adjusting the spring. Thanks for the advice anyway:thumb:

This happened to mine, take the sides of the boot liners off and pull the springs up to the next notch (if theres any left). HTH.

Thanks Iwoody, great advice. I just did this today. Removed the sides off the boot liners and pulled the spring by a notch (still one notch left if the spring gets weaker). The boot now opens from key and from inside. The previous solution was not a fix but rather a minor Improvement. It was dead easy too.
