Colour Question - Coveline Blue

Many thanks for that flat6buster.

I can see why you had the problem. I haven't seen two colour swatches, brochure pictures, on-line configurator images and so on that look the same.

But you do have a very nice looking car and TBH, I'll be very happy with something in that colour.

At present, I still don't have a confirmed build date because panoramic roofs are backlogged and all Augsut and September availabilty is committed. I've had to delete the roof to move things along a bit.

No badges on your car, what variant is it?

That's a great looking Vauxhall Vectra estate you have there, when does your Coveline blue E class arrive?

I think it looks great flat6 buster. I can confirm, having collected my new E today, that the car in the picture is Cavensite. I initially chose Covelline but bottled it when the swatch came through as it looked similar to Tenorite. But in the pics I've now seen it looks special, although I'm also happy with my choice. Hope you're enjoying the car.

Thanks. I am happy with the colour even though I would not have chosen it had I seen it (if you get my meaning). Jolly happy with the standard of equipment, spent all day yesterday on the road and I did not notice the car which I think is the best compliment you can give a large estate car. Only downer is the dab reception which is significantly worse than the vw passat I rented whilst waiting for this. Ventilated seats are welcome inthis weather but I would have expected them to create a stronger puff on full blast.

Cant quite ascertain what colour you went for in the end. Was it cavansite? Love to see a picture to make me feel bad about my colour choice.....

I went for Cavensite in the end. It looks very dark in dull light conditions but comes alive in the sun. For me, having seen your Covelline pictures and the E63 in another thread, I would have been happy to have gone for that instead, but I've made my bed... I will attach some photos but I'm new to this and I'm not sure how to! It says something about enabling from the privacy settings but I can't find that on there!

Ok! Here is Cavansite Blue - I've managed to overcome my Luddite abilities on the iPad now... My old E-Class is alongside on the second pic. Now, is the W211 better looking than the facelift W212?...

Just seen a new C class Coupe in Cavansite Blue in fairly low light and frankly it looked very dull and flat. Its definitely one of those colours that need strong lighting to be at its best. Sadly its one of those very deceptive colours which looks great under the showroom lights but can be a huge disappointment viewed in average lighting. Why can't Mercedes offer a wider range of colours.:(

ps you can see the difference [ which isn't much ]on the quick configurator site for the E class

It does look darker in low light and I agree, Merc should offer more colours - I was hoping Indium Grey would be available but they stopped it for the facelift. Cavansite probably suits the saloon more than the coupe/cab, which I honk would be great in hyacinth red, if it ever becomes available.

Covalline blue

That picture above is NOT covelline. I thought it was going to be a bright blue but I have just got my car and it is grey in some lights and purple/grey in others. It is not a bright blue at all. I am quite happy with it but it certainly was not what I expected from the online colour thingey. In fact I could swear that tyhey have swapped the online colo9ur thingey to now make cavansite look like the much bluer colour and covelline the darker/murkier colour and I would swear blind that it was the other way around when I looked.

Hi, i am from istanbul, Turkey. My mind also confused about covalline blue . İ think it is very different from the color we see in the site. The color we see in site is Quartz blue more then covalline blue i think. İf it won't be difficult for you could you send some more pictures taken especially taken in daylight? I am about to make a decision about the color of the car i will buy. I would be thankfull for it.

I drove past yet another MB dealer while out and about today. Still nothing in Coveline Blue to take a look at.

I believe the code for this colour is 585 coveline blue in Europe or Indigo blue in the States which might help described variously as faded denim here. BenzBlogger » E-Class

Thanks for pictures . At the link that is given for pictures he says "this color most closely resembles Steel Grey but in blue instead of grey. It is much lighter than Lunar Blue but nothing like Quartz Blue. It is not purple. It looks purple on my screen" . So it will be better to look for a car not from computer screen but in real world to have a better opinion.

Thanks grober. Those photos are the closest thing to what it looks like on the MB German configurator and the colour swatch that I saw in the showroom.

I've got a 3 monitor set-up that's I colour checked and adjusted using the fancy software (admittedly quit some time ago) and it looks blue-grey to me, no trace of purple.

Looks a lot like Royal blue to me  Or also known in the trade as doom blue (doom because its a hard colour to sell ) :D

Good job that S Class isn't Coveline then.

I have to say that there was a new e class estate outside ours today and I thought it was a Passat, I took the dog out and looked at it and thought nice colour, was a dark grey but it wasn't till I came back and walked past from the front I clicked it was an E Class.

Cars are starting to all look very alike, from some angles anyway.
