Yes I had to use DEV mode and by pass the nav drive installed option. Its simple if you can understand what the DAS options do. Although I configured the MOST ring in any random order and it makes no difference as everything works which I always find strange. I am also investigating how to fit a switched reverse camera, fitting and getting the image is easy, but not sure how to auto switch.

Do you know if firware can be downgraded?
I assume it maybe limited to the year of manufacture for the hardware. For example you cant install 2004 firmware on a 2007 NTG1 unit?

I find this message very confusing, perhaps you should clarify it a bit if you are still seeking for help. To me it looked like you teaching Alfie on how to use DAS, if you can do that, you would not need any help at all (and would know the answers to firmware downgrade question etc.).

I did not study the device you had installed but it sounds odd if you by-passed the Navi drive from DAS if you still need navigation.

You dont need Developer mode for this.

You should code the MOST ring in the correct order. Yes it often 'works' in any order but its wise to code it correctly as we have seen issues caused by incorrect coding.

As far as im aware you cannot go back to earlier firmware versions.

Bypassing the nav drive will fix it but you wont have any Navigation

Coding the unit properly is correct solution.

We will not enable TV in motion for anyone regardless of the reason.

yes I got it sorted and everything works as it should including the NAVI .

Thank you for your advice, but coding in the correct MOST network order did not work for me, so I probably was doing something wrong.

hello im an owner of e200 w211 and i have a problem with the navigation comand ntg1.after
firmware updates to last v.30/90 Buttons serv and map doesnt work..(before button map works perfect)
Does anyone know what happens or how can i reset navigation system?
I took off battery for 30 mins but everything was the same.
Is there a fuse for the navi to take it off and reset the system/..

Your comand system is capable of having TV added and that can be digital if you choose. You can already play DVD's by simply placing a DVD into the slot above the screen. As you are in Holland you wont be able to play this on the move or even enter a destination on the move though.

Its probably possible to fit a reversing camera but the NTG1 system was never designed to act upon seeing a reversing signal and then switch to video input mode. You may have to press the video button to enable the screen once you have fitted a camera.

Ignore that red connector. Its for diagnostics at the factory and is of no use to you at all.

Hello Sirs,

I have a question(s) about the COMAND in my auto:

W211,
E240 Avantgarde,
Year 2004,
Euro spec,
HK sound system.
Navigation DVD in the trunk.

On the COMAND sticker:

A211 827 68 42 00
A211 827 08 57 001
MODEL: BE 7023.

On the back side I find a empty green fakra and 25 pin connector. I read on another site (COMAND-APS FAQ (NTG1/NTG2))

Green FAKRA - Video Input (only if Video capable).
25-way D-Type - Rear Screen (only if Video capable)

On the front of COMAND there is a VIDEO button, when I press it the screen has the soft key option DVD to play a DVD. Does this mean I am video capable? Sorry if this is a stupid question.

If I am "video capable" is there a special cable I need to connect to a rear screen?

If I want to use a digitaal TV tuner do I need a special cable so it can connect to the green fakra?

If I want a reverse camera too how do I connect him when there is only one fakra?

On the back side of the COMAND, left, top, there is a red female connector (I put a red box round him so it is easy to see). My question is does some one know what it is?

Sorry for the stupid questions but I am learning and when I do not ask I do not know.

I have the same NTG1 with green fakra, any idea how to activate the backup camera please
