Not sure if I should know how to do this?

Have created a cover letter for clients in word, including a couple of pictures and would like to send it as an email.

Tried using the email function of word but it just jumbled up the pictures and messed up the layout!

Any ideas please?

Are you using Microsoft Outlook ?

If so, you can choose to use Word as your email editor - this might be one way around it.

You could try saving as html and then cutting and pasting the html code that's generated into your email. The trouble with that is that Word is notorious for producing a ton supurflous code that will probably mess things up.

Another idea would be to write your document in your email client (I'm guessing outlook) instead of word.

Thanks for the quick replies, Please humour me, how do I set Word as my Outlook email editor??

Mail Format

Tick box that says "Use Microsoft Word 20xx to edit email messages"

PS - This is Outlook (full version) - not Outlook Express.

Cheers Sym, your a star :D

Just sent the email to myself and it arrived no problems but without the pics and in plain text format. Is there a way to ensure people receiving the email get it in the format I sent it??

Only by sending a word document as an attachment, I'm afraid.

It depends on how their mail client is set up to read HTML / Rich Text Format mails.

You need to tick the box below, to make sure you see it the way that you have sent it (Use Microsoft Word 20xx to read Rich Text e-mail messages)

You could use CutePDF Printer (freeware ;) ) to convert your word doc into a pdf file and attach that. That way if the recipient has 'plain text' only as their option they can still view the document in the intended layout. (They would need Acrobat Reader to view it, also a free download )
