Damaged Tyre - MOT Wednesday

Thats simply a pass

Why? If its not in a failure state what is the point?

If it is and you have a full size spare then you can do this, just make sure you leave this wheel out of the car as if it is present it should be checked as well.
The spare wheel is not an MOT test item

I’ve had tyres with damage to the rim protector like that passed on multiple occasions, sometimes with an advisory.
However, I don’t use Kwik-Fit, and they sell tyres for a living! So there may or may not be an issue.
As it was suggested above though, if they fail it for it, you’ll get a free retest so don’t be conned into paying over the odds just to have it back with a new MOT.

Just thought I'd check in to say the car passed the MOT. I found KwikFit good to be honest. In and out within the hour. Flagged up the tyre with an advisory of "cut on front tyre but not deep enough to reach the ply cord", and said just keep an eye on it but it should be fine unless you hit it again for the foreseeable future.

Didn't think it would be an issue. Good to hear they didn't try to make something of it.
