Diagnostic Error on W203 Command Unit

Hi Everyone,

Still havent fixed the single CD loader used for the Sat Nav on my command unit. It's still broke, pressing eject won't do anything, not even a whir or a noise. If i power the unit on or off again I get no sound from the slot loader. However I did notice if i gently pop a credit card into the slot and push apart the small white lugs - i do get a whirring noise as if the unit is trying to do something. I've discovered the diagnostic menu and did notice if I choose a system reset - when the system powers up a small noise can be heard from the slot loader - although this doesnt happen using the basic 'on/off' button. I also found one error using the diagnostic service - wondered if this was my problem! It says... SAE Code B1795, Type 0x0000, CNT 331, State P. As you can imagine that explained everything! Don't suppose anyone out there can translate this and let me know if it's associated with my failed CD slot loader?

Cheers!

Stuart

Have a look at this post on this thread .

Sadly, don't think that's your answer. Think you might be looking at a new CD mechanism :(

I had similar problems and resorted to searching google for COMAND <error>.

It came up with a German GPS website which I registered on and asked the question. I got a reply telling me what the error was within about 24 hours. I'll try and figure out what the site was called.

Have you tried www.mbworld.org?

Just to let you guys know, I visited RamMobile in Wakefield - a good 1 hour drive for me, but worth every penny. The guys charged £60 - had the car for 3 hours and fixed my Comand Single Slot CD loader no problem. Apparently it had was so dusty inside the unit just jammed with a CD in it, after a quick clean and service it was as good as new! None of this "£2500" for a new unit business! Fantastic!

Nice one! :D Are they general auto-electricians? Might be worth putting their details in the Favourites section for future users, as this problem crops up now and again.

Good to see you got it sorted at a great price

I need the contact details for these guys - if they can clean the insides of my comand unit and make it read discs again then they are welcome to 60 of my Earth pounds! :D

EDIT: I see it was www.rammobile.com that sorted your problem. I work in Leeds and Wakefield isn't that far away, I will call them when I get chance :)
