DMS Automotive - C230K Chipping

Excellent news Graham, glad it's all gone well and you're pleased.

>I would not enter a BHP dispute without haveing BHP meaured at the wheels of all cars concerned measured from the same dyno.

1000% agreed. You cannot compare between dynos at all.

Absolutely agree. I've had mine dyno'd twice one machine, on one day said 140bhp but the machine used when Superchips did mine said 135bhp before(just under the makers figure) and 150bhp after. Those figures sound about right.

I'm not getting mine tested again as I dont like the stress it puts the car (and me!) under. It drives nicely and thats fine.

Somewhere I have a pile of printouts for every car I owned back in Australia on the same dyno. No particular reason, just used to get a run for about £15 and thought it was fun.

Still not gone near a dyno.

But, I have noticed the rev limiter has moved from 5900rpm to 6500rpm, which is quite handy and the engine now pulls all the way to 6500rpm nicely.

0-60 stats should be better as I can now get to over 60mph in 2nd gear!

I have not got as many miles out this tank of fuel since the remap. Has to be a good sign!

Dyno time is Monday 14:30 :D

*Ahem* Without wishing to offend Scott :p What his Crossfire lacks in performance (w.r.t. G's chipped C230k, though I think you are joshing too Nick ;) ) is more than compensated by his lack of fear! :D

That's meant as a compliment mate ;)

I think it'd be an interesting race! Power-wise they'd be close, so you're down to engine characteristics, handling and driver skill.

i would like to see that race .....

Having said that ... scott can have his engine conveted to that of a C32 by that company that tunes mercs in america :)

1 ) insert supercharger

2 ) buy shares in michelin

3 ) buy shares in shell

lol :bannana:

You'd struggle to do that for the price of an ECU update though :)

>engine characteristics
Maybe

Maybe

I've had it! :-)

What's the torque like on the C230K Graham? 190 standard or something...? I have about 230 standard. Will be interested to see what you've gained.

280Nm stock.

I just worked out that it's 206.5 ft-lbs then.

For the first time ever I managed to find a supposed comparison between a stock and chipped xfire:

Not exactly a mind-blowing improvement on paper is it? It'd be enough to put a smile back on your face again after owning the car for a while though!
