Do You Miss Driving Your Car?

I'm in my S211 E500, and the clock started going round and round, with various messages coming up on the speedo, so I hope I don't incur problems when I get a jump from the AA later. If not, I'm looking forward to a 200 mile journey after work tomorrow!

Had a very welcome xmas surprise this morning. After calling the AA out to jump start my car two days ago and a 200 mile journey last night, I opened the tailgate to reload the car, and the luggage cover automatically raised itself for the first time in my three years of ownership, and after being tested twice by well known indies!

I keep popping in and out of the garage sorting bits for my restoration and my Citroen SM keeps saying drive me with a sultry French accent and I keep replying road salt.

Why oh why can't they fit that Citroen suspension to an E class. I use to borrow my fathers Xantia and before that his BX's just to enjoy the waft, not drive, along country lanes

Have to say the same John. I've never had the same feeling with any other car I've ever owned . My Amg is a true Buzz & a delight to drive .

Turn key ... Roar .. Wiley wave :)

Been meaning to get out in mine for the last week or so but just not got round to it. Same old really, every time I think I'll just pop out for an hour something happens to stop me unfortunately. :(

Then I decided that this morning was going to be the right time. Quiet on the roads, which were nice and dry, and it was reasonably mild weather wise. Happy bunny. Just finished my brew, put a pair of shoes on and then heard the hailstones bouncing off the window. Absolutely gutted as the car is spotlessly clean and I wanted it to stay that way for the weekend as I'm out in it then and won't have time to wash it again.

Roll on Saturday, although looking at the forecast we may have snow by then...

Looks like snow up north but not here down south!

Just been out and had a play this morning. Quiet roads, traction off and make loud noises with it. :)

Made me realise just how much I have missed not using it, and it still feels special now whereas using it on a daily basis I'd miss that feeling. :) Now the cleaning starts as the roads were filthy due to the crap weather we've had, but at least I missed the snow. Which we probably won't get anyway...

I bimble about in the ML most days ferrying the kids to and fro , so it's nice when I can take the 911 out for a blast , which I did yesterday :D

Lovely car indeed!

I hired an E-reg (1987?) targa one of those for a weekend back in '91 and I had superb fun in it...drove it every waking moment of those 48 hours and it made me grin uncontrollably at times...the noise, acceleration, handling and fun were terrific! :D :thumb:

I'll watch that vid when I have a faster connection. :)

Enjoy! Do you give people spins in it? ;)

Im personally not bothered about the "driving" bit that much but the feeling of freedom and the shutting of the outside world out when you close that drivers door is magic whether its one of my cars or vans its all the same to me

But then I am a pretty anti social miserable bastid though
